It is not OSRS Mohogany Homes though. It is RS3 style Construction Contracts, closer to Safecracking than Mahogany Homes, which probably take us to higher tiers stuff including Aquarium and such.
It should be more emphasized on fun rewards and varieties over just an alternative way to train construction.
Given how expensive it was to train Construction with a player-owned house, not to mention flatpacks... I only managed to secure admission to Prifdinnas thanks to building sandcastles at the Summer Beach party.
Therefore, while it's too late for me, as I'm maxed now, I am very glad for new players that Jagex has recognized that Construction needed a bit of a boost.

It was inspired by Mahogany homes (As stated on stream).
And if you look at the two versions, they are almost identical:
"Mahogany Homes is a brand new, cost-effective way to train Construction outside of your Player Owned House. You’ll take on jobs at Mahogany Homes offices all over Gielinor building and restoring furniture… and receive ample rewards in exchange." (OSRS Version)
And the RS3 description:
"Get ready to be Gielinor’s handiest handy-person with Construction Contracts, a less intensive and less expensive way to level up your Construction skill" (RS3 Version)
The sound so identical. Though the person in charge of these contracts will most likely be different.
Time to follow an trail of Treasure.

Anyone know what rewards rs3 mahogany homes will have? I'd like an add on to the crystal saw that makes it wieldable, a plank sack, and a blueprints for a new style of home.

The concept of the contracts from either game is of course similar, as it originated from RS3's POF Farming Contract. However, what tasks are offered, the rewards and how they are implemented can be quite different.

From all that has been shown there isn’t enough evidence that it will differ in any way from mahogany homes in oldschool runescape. I guarantee that they didn’t take the game jam version and use it to the fullest extent they could considering the screen shot from steam shows it in possibly falador house east of bank like mahogany homes is.

It didn’t originate from pof contracts. The idea has been in the works since 2018 gamejam

Technically the Contracts concept originated from Mod Ryan's Gamejam presentation, but the actual realization of such concept happened on Sept 2018 when RS3 released Animal Buyers with the release of Player Owned Farm.
Very present surprise coming out of RS3's Construction Contract - The Master Constructor's Outfits are coming right away, totally earnable from doing the Construction Contract from next Monday.
And unlike how all the elite skilling outfits were released in the past, we don't have to wait 6 months after Jagex put them on TH for the new Master Constructor's Outfits.
