The return of Romeo and Juliet is an exciting prospect, particularly with the anniversary celebrations. It would be a nice tie-in.

My other thought would be Caelyn and Annette from last year's Easter event. As I remember, they were well-received, and both were originally from Varrock. With Caelyn also being a master thief, the reference to lockpicks and disguises makes sense.

The year 2021 is a year of great lore and quests. It already began with the RS20 Anniversary quest which we assisted the Cook and relived 3 other remade old quests. It was followed by the first chapter of the Once Upon A Time quest arc - Forthshadowing... and then the Vault of Shadows mystery is made into a quest to path the way for the Elder Godwar Dungeon.

A new Ninja themed miniquest is added to start the month of February too:

"New Miniquest - Tortle Combat
Listen here, kid - never mess around with teleportation! Now that the Trap Telekinesis spell has been invented we've been receiving strange reports from all over Gielinor, and the latest one is right here in the Varrock Sewers. Apparently some tortles were accidentally teleported in from the Maw, and the experience has made them a little... 'different'. Go help them out, will ya?"

How is this great? :( A bunch of standalone novice quests and miniquests... And mostly without interesting gameplay; the exception is Vault of Shadows but then that had existed already.

Now 2008 or 2009. Those are great years...
Bizarre Boron Fusswell, scryer extraordinaire. OSRS: POH ideas & RS3 minigames & achievement ideas !

Perhaps you're half right; perhaps we can't win. But we can fight.

Standalone? Perhaps you should read the RS20 Anniversary announcement first if you haven't. Forthcoming is the first of the 4 part series that is tied to all the lore of the past, the present and the future.

No interesting gameplay? Perhaps it is just your personal opinion. For instance, a lot of players like the puzzles in the Tortle quest, and the others like OP seemingly are more interested in the lore. RS3's quests beat a lot of grindfest games with no lore pretending to be MMORPGs. :)

Great year for quest and lore fans. Azzanadra's Quest is revealed for next Monday.

What we know so far is Azzanadra is looking to destroy the Elder God's eggs, and we have a choice to get Sir Owen into the quest (so this option may be considered a Death of Chivalry 2 miniquest perhaps). :)

Can't wait to see my brother in arms again!

Azzanadra or Sir Owen?

If you mean Sir Owen, I am not sure if he is coming back the way like Arrav,
Yes Sir Owen, my sig didn't give it away? Lol

But we'll see when it comes out. I'm curious as to how he was cured. If at all.
I will protect Gielinor. Zaros has no love for its people.

Looks to be a good year for questing so far, or at the very least storytelling content planned.

I do still hope we'll get to see those older stories continued someday. Perhaps when the current main storyline arc runs its course.

In any case this is just a long-winded way of me saying "Profiled" and "Bump". :P

And thanks for keeping the thread series going!

I don't think Jagex considered most of the old quest line ended already. However, we are seeing old quest NPCs like the SIgnature Hereos in new quests now. We have seen Ariane, Sir Owen and Ozan in new quests this year. Next we probably are going to see the Raptor.

So, Azzanadra's Quest is actually the ending of Death of Chivalry plus a lot more.
