I mean - when they did RSC the level cap should have been 50 (maybe 40), rather than this artificial 99 - and this should be increased from time to time, but the time those capes were released 99 never should have been the cap - 70, maybe 80 - but that's thinking about long spilled milk.

Most 99s just weren't really meant to be a realistic goal at that time, since most skills simply lacked actual progression - I mean sure often enough they had had some kind of high levelled unlock, but neither in real numbers, nor actual mechanics, that make skilling evolve over time - or just the xp rates. But given enough time players just will push through - you just can see this in OS, in which I see a lot of 99s far less realistic as I would see their 120 counterpart in RS3. But in general - the original max was better (even though it was 'just' intended for a couple of hundred players first), this one even moreso (and it will become even better over time).

I said I would have prefered more skills to be actual 120 skills, since I nowadays do not see a single skill unreasonable for reaching 99, as well as I would see none of the 120 skills for 120 - but some 99 skills are not meant to be for reaching 120 right now, others perfectly work despite lacking features for those 21 levels. Generally I also would say universal 120s isn't a 'if', it's more a 'when' - as for combat skills they just won't be able to overstretch the tier 95 niche even closely as much as they were with 92 (since equipment to step up from 80 to 90 just exists now in so many variations). The same thing with other skills, that literally accumulate features over 90.

I mean it really depends on the skill. Mining and Smithing for instance have no reason to be increased to 120 until Attack and Defense have been increased to 120. Because their primary goal is to make weapons and armour for melee. And I wouldn't increase the levels on ranged or magic until we've rebalnced fletching crafting and runecrafting to be more in line with how mining and smithing are. And we still need to look at what rewards 120 dungeonerring actually gives us.

Just uncapping to 120 to uncap to 120 is stupid. If theres a solid tangible reason that will progress the game, then yes. But just uncapping because players want it? No.

The effort and time to get all 120s now would probably be the same, or can only be less or even much less in the future with new methods of training. However, there are also other choices like Trim Comp and who know what in the future like Trim MQC. It is a matter of choice to me.

I agree with a commenter above that getting a 120 today is easier than it was to get a 99 back in the day (many years ago it was MUCH harder to level up, they keep making it easier all the time... so essentially everyone is running around with LV138 and nearly max on everything already and I see very few others who aren't ... ).

I'm wondering if you have to get "120" in "all skills" or just the ones that allow you to show 120? As most skills max out at 99.
