interesting theories here. what about necromancers in daemonheim?

We have necrolord bosses in the Daemonheim dungeon.

We also encountered a named Necrolord, Yudura, in Nadir when we played as Moia. Yudura
has a note on his assignment to mess with Bilrach and Moia, control Daemonheim and expand onto the surface of Gielinor.

Even more Interestingly, the Damemonheim necromancers have been related to Moia, Bilrach and the Strange Power over 10 years ago.

Fort Forinthry will be used to -introduce- Necromancy.

I'm hesitant to say that, but that certainly is possible given the timeline of updates we currently know about.

The reason I'm not bought in on this notion is because of the way the fort's upgrade system operates. Right now, Fort Forinthry seems to be a massive update to Construction, and every area of the fort barring the walls can be upgraded to a more useful and opulent tier with higher construction levels...

Here's an assumption:

1. The Fort Forinthry storyline introduces two more expansions. A barracks (which addresses Murder on the Border's mention of Forinthry lacking troops, as well as provides any aspiring Necromancer with potential cadavers) and a graveyard (where those dead troops will rest, until said necromancer disturbs them.)

2. The graveyard, in the case where Fort Forinthry is the introduction of the skill, would probably likely be the hub for all necromantic activity. This feels incredibly limiting. This could very well be what happens, but I would want to see -all- graveyard areas accessible when the skill is released. Not to mention, Free players should still be able to train the skill to level 5 somehow...

3. What probably -will- be likely, is that there will be very good perks for higher tier graveyards that enhance the Necromancy experience.

Is that something Jagex can work with? Yeah, probably.

Regarding Xau-Tak still kinda being shrouded in mystery at the end of the Fort Forinthry arc but perhaps more noticeable, that's how I would imagine Jagex would play it.

Here's a really good lore debate... Is the Strange Power belonging to Mah, or Xau-Tak? Everything that we know about it relates more to the Elder God, but she's very much the way she is due to the latter's influence. Seeing the Strange Power return gives me hope that Jagex is getting closer to revealing more about it.

Fort Forinthry is not only about construction. It is also not only about Necromancy.

As pretty much the limited information Jagex told us about Necromancy - Necromancy is similar to Archaeology, Fort Forinthry is similar to Anachronia. The Fort Foundations are similar to the Anachronia Basecamp. Both of them are not about construction only. Both serve the purpose as the basecamp and building blocks for a wide range of killing and skilling content coming soon.

Murder on the Border/Succession is the equivalent of the Desperate Times series. The last 2 new quests paved the way for Necromancy the new skill, in a similar manner Desperate Times set up Archaeology.

When the dusts settled in Archaeology. we learned a lot of the mysteries about gods, elder gods, dragonkin, etc that were buried for thousands of years. When the bones crumbed in Necromancy, instead of knowing more about gods and elder gods, we probably will find the missing links from the dark side of Gielinor - devils, elder demons, the undead and shadow societies, and perhaps what exactly Xau-Tak is.
