Judging by the OP's comment, they know the crates have been moved.

Is it possible you missed a step? It's possible that the 'jiggling' effect is triggered at a certain point in the quest now. While I have done the quest, I tried searching the jiggling crate, which stopped it. My crates cannot be searched.

With that in mind, I would suggest repeating the previous step of the quest again. Also, check your quest journal, to make sure you haven't inadvertently completed the step.

Try to pick up the cat it'll say it's thirsty give it a bucket of milk try again it'll say it might be thirsty/hungry use a raw sardine and the weed u pick up from behind Gertrude's house (I forgot the name of it) and use it on the raw sardine then feed that to the cat and it should say it's anxious now and should be able to get the kittens out of the box

Thank you but I have tried repeating all of the steps on the wiki.

The quest journal now says:
I found Fluffs and fed her some milk and a doogle sardine but she still won't come back. I should look around the abandoned house for a reason for this behaviour.


I think something broke in the Fort Forinthry update. Just hoping it gets fixed as i really want to progress through quests and unlock curses.

Are you looking in the right house for the crates? Next house east from the cat/first house north from the potion guy's house. If you examine all 7, the six wrong ones should say; My expectations were not crate, then all 7 will say that after the quest.

Also check your bank, you may have found them and placed the item in there. (Not sure if they can be banked).

Yeah, am looking in the right house, there is no option to search the crates.

Sadly no Kittens in my bank either.

Only other thing I can think of is to try talking to the kids and mother again. I know you have already given it milk and doogle sardines but you may have known that from wiki or doing the quest on another account rather than being told to in the quest. Feed it again after talking to them and see if it works. If not, then send in a bug report as forums won't really help.
