the dwarven tool doesn't count for this task? Sounds like it was nerfed to force players to mindlessly grind.

The chainaxe definitely worked at some point in the past. In my mind they flip a coin to decide whether it works. This coin isn't heads or tails, it is chainsaws or chisels.

But it's possible it hasn't worked for a long time. Not sure.

TBH I have no problem with the normal bamboo as I said. Its the implication that I should be chopping elders so I can burn them, because I sure as heck can't go collect thousands of driftwood on demand.
