More and more I am not a fan of these events that require an XP drop action every 3 minutes to get the reward. The whole concept is distracting and feels like I am being punished for not gaining XP on time, rather than being rewarded for playing the game. Which is basically the intention.

Obviously you don't want people racking up points for just standing AFK. That is silly. I would ask for an option to get a popup reminder that I can click to redeem the timed reward. It's a game and that is the sort of thing a game might do.

Some might ask what I am doing that it's such a burden for me to bury a bone or whatever. TBH it doesn't matter. Whatever it is, it's important to me and I feel distracted by this system.

It's not a positive experience, I am relieved when these events end, and I have expressed that opinion in the past as well.

Yes but I don't want to gain xp every 3 minutes and if I'm not training I am being left out.

This system, like much of everything else ignores the one in the middle. Training constantly no problem, AFK no reward. Doing ANYTHING else=no reward.

Why is it only limited to XP gains? They have the technology to start a timer once the reward is available and offer me a clicky popup a short time later. OR instantly. That sounds like another toggle.

In the past it wasn't such a big deal because we got these events like once a year maybe. Now they are running it after we complete yak track, so it's up most of the time. They went extra extra by recycling it for the 300M account celebration.

It is their history to take any good idea and grind it to dust with over-use. Like I remember a time when there were less than 10,000 slider puzzles or cosmetic reward tokens in the game. Nostalgia yo.

Basically I am asking for a manual activation mode OR the current automatic activation.

Automatic already requires me to do all the work, but in manual mode the computer would be helping out by keeping track of the time and offering me something to click.

When an activity requires gaining xp, and you don't want to gain xp then don't participate in that event and don't expect the reward.

Why don't people say they don't want to gain xp and they are being punished for gaining xp to get a Max Cape? Why don't these people say they want a Max Cape from "playing the game" but not gaining xp?

I am not making any offer, I am just giving everybody the FACT how RSC/RS2/RS3/OSRS are designed. Sorry when you reject the "offer" of RSC/RS2/RS3/OSRS of gaining xp to get a Max Cape, you reject the Max Cape. It can't be more obvious.
