Geez, I have been (almost) constantly monitoring this forum over the past 48 hours, and I have only just noticed this new sticky!

I guess I was too distracted by all the threads that have been appearing. It goes to show that there is still life here, and perhaps the decision to totally remove the forums should probably be reconsidered.

I believe some of us will be moving to Discord (either the official RS3 or OSRS channel). I cannot comment on Reddit as this is not directly managed by Jagex. That said, I am currently doing a complete archive of the forums (including the localised forums), having saved, as of this writing, >4.1M posts and >53K threads. I will be publishing this on a dedicated website, preserving the forums, essentially, in perpetuity. Thanks for dedicating your time for doing this Mexk!

Just in case people miss it here, will you be posting the URL to this archive on the other platforms?

You won't see me on RS Discord or Twitter or Reddit. Don't like them. So it's a good bye from me. I hope you remember I was the guy who had the most Forum posts of anyone. 152221 as of now. Might be a few more added lol.

I can't help feeling it's a plain mistake to close official, centralized forums in favor of some scattered, fragmented 3rd party platforms - and all the clickbait chaos and political shenanigans that comes with them.

I feel the reasoning given is somewhat disingenuous. Let's be honest... The J Staff abondoned this home years ago, back when it was still popular, long before the majority of players left to follow them. It only makes sense that people would gravitate to places where they can see and even receive responses from official staff.

Granted, the other platforms have the advantage of being mobile-friendly since they were built for that medium. I suppose it makes sense to move to another platform so long as it remained a single, centralized place managed by Jagex. But that isn't what we're seeing. Rather, it's something more akin to closing the public housing unit and leaving people scattered about, homeless, in nearby communities.

Anyway, that's how it feels to me. It may be a product of my Boomer brain, but I find these other platforms chaotic and confusing. It's going to be a challenging adjustment for me.

Yeah, I'm well and truly screwed. I won't do Twitter so long as that megalomaniac oaf owns it, I've never done Reddit, and I didn't know what Discord was until they mentioned it and I had to go look it up. But, hey, Runescape is for the young, right? Us old fogeys can just adapt or quit? Now I need to go give my information to some new site and hope they don't sell my e-mail address to ad-spammers? I trust Jagex; I kind of have to, they need my information so they can give me access to the game itself. I don't know Discord from Dysthymia; how am I supposed to trust that. Yeah, I am a wee bit peeved.

You know, I get shrinking the forums down, maybe limiting it to the places where there's still active stuff like PVP, Minigames and D&Ds where we go for Penguin Hide and Seek and similar stuff but ... wait. I started playing 15 years ago. Maybe I'm just not remembering right, but I don't remember the forums being much more active than they are now. Is this some cost-cutting thing?

I'm screwed as well.

No Reddit, Twitler, Fakebook or RubeTube.....

Only have a Discord for the notices...I find it extremely chaotic and disorganized .

This is a mistake on Jagex's part.
