As in why people refer to him as Bandos, rather than Graardor?

I'm not sure. I think it's just a combination of ease of use (Bandos is a lot easier to type), the fact that the armour drops use the name 'Bandos' rather than 'Graardor', and perhaps people just getting the name wrong.
