Yeah, when I first attempted Broken Home years ago, I didn't use a quest guide, as I dislike using those. I prefer to figure out quests on my own. After figuring out the book puzzle in the library and the statue room puzzle (claiming those three eye gems), I wasn't sure what to do next. Eventually, I got bored and teleported out of the mansion. I tried again several months later, got a little further, got stuck again, and teleported out again.
After that, I found any reason to be too busy to go back to that quest, even when there wasn't an event of any kind going on in RuneScape at the time.
Finally, I decided last week I was going to beat this quest! First, I had to figure out why I had only two eye gems in my backpack. It turned out I had to redo the book and statue puzzles, because apparently I hadn't saved my progress after finding them before!
Using the quest guide was very helpful, most of the time.
I am looking forward to doing Missing, Presumed Death...when I have the time.
