Jagex determine what are bots and not, as well as whether they ban or not ban them and duration of the bans (and unban too in that respect). I don't think anybody in the RSOF can do anything.

As for "report bot hotspots" feature, I don't think there is any such feature officially, although when Mods Tyran (now has moved to a different job in OSRS) and Trident (Left Jagex last month) were in charge of anti-cheating, they offered such on-demand services in irregular intervals for OSRS only. Seeing both Jmods have now vacated their old positions, I don't know if somebody else still offer such "report bot hotspots" services for OSRS. I also recall a while ago, Mod Light talked in an OSRS Jmod Livestream about "bot busting livestreams" but we haven't heard from them for like 2 months.

If you are reporting OSRS bots, there is also a Macro Report From on the OSRS General Forum, which you can report all of them at the same time without wasting your time to report over 9,000 of them:

"Struggling to find a reason why to still play."

I can't speak for everyone, but to me, I play the game for my own enjoyment. Maybe it bothers me in OSRS when bots take away my ores, but fortunately in RS3, I can always get my ores regardless of any bots (I rarely see them anyway) as ores don't deplete. Actually I am well advantaged because of Rockatunity. Humans slam dunk bots in RS3. :)

Edit: can now see the bots I reported yesterday, at the same spot, doing the same thing.

Better to put money and effort into creating stuff like Necromancy huh? O_o O_o

You do realize the team working on Necromancy and the team who work on banning bots are different right?

Just how whiny can you get? It's honestly ridiculous.

That's what I wrote too. The team working on Necromancy is the RS3 team, and the team banning/unbanning bots is the Jagex team, in addition to the team offering "report bot hotspots" features is the OSRS Team.

The best part is when you waste hours and hours going through worlds when a J mod would do it in literal half the time.

Then you see several "is already on your ignore" and you go there periodically for months.

Real good reason to not be a returning player and not suggest this game to anyone.

Should check out Prif sometime, many bots/farmers in the 99+ range. Some even get to 200m and have for a few months at least.

It would of been better to stay away and have the memories of when Mod Weath was doing the work.

If you going to ask for people to "report" and use them as free labor.

At least use it yea?

Found one that I know for a fact I have been reporting at the very least weekly. For a good 6 months now. 200m thieve. What a joke.

There is no such service with Jmods going around in the games to ban bots officially. As I mentioned certain Jmods might be doing such things, but only in OSRS and only once in a while. These Jmods no longer involve in anticheating now. It is also ineffective as banned bots immediately recreate new ones easily owing to free to pay and high trade limit.

Yes I come from OSRS. Just don't come here often obviously, and didn't see it be in the "general" forum tab.

There is 0 reason to be letting them get to 200m and be there for months and months.

The only reason is pure neglect. Or they just let them.

I could careless what some random forum goer says. Its just for jagex to see how a person that's been playing since Original 07 scape feels on the matter.

Just because my tag says 2021, I can assure you I been around for longer. I've also seen different with Mod Weath.

They clearly gave up somewhere.

You can't name and shame since it's just your word.

I get the whole "you can't name and shame" thing but i often wonder if the sight of a thread shaming an individual just becomes the nothingness it seems after the thread is hidden?

I believe my thoughts are correct when i think that hidden nothingness is probably the way it is =(

At the same time i'd like to think that Jagex may have a specific team dedicated to this issue cos lets be blatantly honest here, i'd say a quite large percentage of people who go down the "name and shame" route probably have good reason to do so and i doubt many people would even be arsed trying to shame someone for no reason.

Don't get me wrong, i know it happens were people try to shame you for no reason, it's happened to me lol but would it be so hard for these claims to be checked, while it may not weed out scammers and many shamed players, it could at least weed out some of the idiots who may falsely try to "name and shame"

Those false "name and shaming" players should then become the named and shamed.

Much love

Oh no, naming and shaming filth.

And I played since before 2007.

I don't name without being 100% sure they are a bot/farmer. Both are trash that should be cleaned.

I've seen a bot or two in my time. Just maybe.

As a player, you can't ever know 100% in ever single case. Only Jagex can. Sure some are obviously bots. Other maybe not. I find it weird if bots were ble to get to 200m xp and still be active months later. Maybe someone just has an efficient playstyle.

All you can do is report suspicious behavior.

Certain Jmods have done on demand bot busting actions for OSRS and I knew sometimes OSRS Jmods did some bot busting streams, but these services aren't part of the official Jagex anticheating protocol. As I mentioned, these anti-cheating specialists involved have moved to the regular OSRS team and left Jagex respectively, and AFAIK Jagex/OSRS hasn't officially announced the new go-to person in lieu of Mod Trident.
