Why would they choose September 7th and 8th for the next Runefest? Some younger people would have to back to school, especially university students would be back to their campuses.
1. It's the weekend. Kids don't go to school during the weekend in the UK.

2. UK students don't go back to university till the mid to end of September, if not later.

I see no problem with these dates.

Weren't Runefest always held at weekends? Back to school sales usually run in August and end in early September in most countries. That should give us the information what time most students go back to school, even if school doesn't start right away for them.

Birmingham is home to the UK's largest event/conference venue, the NEC - whose calendar still shows as empty for the beginning of September....

I came to say this, so thanks :) .

The most important point being conveyed here -- as directed by the survey conducted -- most people wanted to know well in advance so that they can make arrangements. Jagex followed suit with the survey and it passed, thus the reason why we were told 9 months ahead of the planned date to give everyone as much time as possible.

"The world’s biggest and best celebration of all things RuneScape will return in Birmingham, UK as a bonanza 2-day event on the 7th and 8th of September 2024.
Many thanks for filling in the surveys, your answers have been invaluable to us while we plan the event
.

Whilst we know the date and its location, we’ve still got lots to sort out.
One of the common requests from you was to give you as much notice as possible… so that’s why we wanted to send out this “save the date” message so you can start your plans
."

It cannot be clearer than that ;) .

It will be 5 years since the last Runefest in 2019 when we get to see the Runefest 2024.

A lot of things have changed since then and perhaps more changes from now to September 2024. At least many of the usual hosts of more recent Runefests like Mods MatK, Osborne, Acorn, Gee are no longer on board. Mod Raven has returned, but reportedly working on a new announced project. We'll see if he shows up Runefest 2024.

Anyway, we know very little from the Runefest 2024 annuncement, except perhaps Mod Mark is still here. Any thoughts on what and who will we see 9 months from now in Runfest 2024?

That's very interesting. Maybe it will be updated in due time?
