a lot of my vitriol stems from what i consider disrespect on the part of jagex to their players. the sailing poll is objectively the biggest update in the games history, and they polled it in the summer when they have the least amount of players, shortened the poll from 14 days to 5 days, lowered the threshold to 70% from 75% and placed the sailing question, the most important one, at question 6 amongst a litany of obvious yes answers. if anyone thinks this is ethical then we just fundamentally have different principles. this isnt some trivial update like a cosmetic where the voting threshold could be at 50% for all it matters, this is the biggest update in the games history thus far that will affect the health of this game going forward, in my opinion, the threshold should be higher than 75 in such an instance, and the poll should really be passed in good faith. if you ask me, its clear they just want a new skill and dont really care what happens going forward as long as it looks like they care. this goes back to my point about novelty for novelty's sake. so much of the rest of the games problems will now be neglected.
