... i acknowledged that people are free to play this game as they like, and give their attention to what they like, but that's a good way to ignore all my points.
No ... what you do is ignoring other players and put your point of view on top of everything as we should it accept it as the only truth possible.

I have read so many ways of players liking RuneScape their own way and Jagex/JMods are the ones whom attempt to mould it as much together so it will fit in RuneScape.

im not advocating jagex change your experience with this game, i simply ask for something so small that we once had and they took away (see OP again). if you wanna call the rest complaining, you have the right to just as i have the right to complain.
There hasn't been anything taken away ... it all is incorporated in both versions of RuneScape.

respectfully disagree

just open one 2000 player world of static 2007 runescape that receives zero updates and maintenance for the last few sane people that play this game for fun.
Tell me the difference between this ^ and what you say '
something so small that we once had and they took away
'.

Jagex/JMods never took anything away but they expanded it in 2 directions and given you more to choose from.

in all seriousness, flaming and hyperbole aside, i'll answer you. maybe you don't remember but when osrs came out it was static 2007 without the intent of updates. the game grew bigger than jagex ever anticipated, to the surprise of no one but them, and they decided theyd proceed with updates. now i am not a total narcissistic authoritarian, i understand the majority enjoys this game in a drastically different way than i do, and their way is actually necessary for the survival of this game. im asking for 1 world as a consolation for the people alienated by the game becoming unrecognizable relative to the one we initially signed up for. everybody wins

Unfortunately, RSC was littered with bugs, and nobody at Jagex now understands the code that RSC was built on.

This means that these bugs cannot be fixed without significant investment in both time and resource. If the bugs persist, then the game is simply not playable, therefore there is no reason to open the game again.

As much as I'd love to see a return, I doubt we'll get it.

However, I think it'll be cool if one day there was a quest in RS3 that returned us to the graphics of the time. Something like a flashback where we can wonder around and interact with things, but not take anything with us (saves on designing new icons for all the items we have now). This would be built on the RS3 engine, and could be similar to the current Winter Village where a little bit is opened at a time.

This could be a popular way of incorporating the nostalgia of the past, without having another separate game to experience it.

a lot of my vitriol stems from what i consider disrespect on the part of jagex to their players. the sailing poll is objectively the biggest update in the games history, and they polled it in the summer when they have the least amount of players, shortened the poll from 14 days to 5 days, lowered the threshold to 70% from 75% and placed the sailing question, the most important one, at question 6 amongst a litany of obvious yes answers. if anyone thinks this is ethical then we just fundamentally have different principles. this isnt some trivial update like a cosmetic where the voting threshold could be at 50% for all it matters, this is the biggest update in the games history thus far that will affect the health of this game going forward, in my opinion, the threshold should be higher than 75 in such an instance, and the poll should really be passed in good faith. if you ask me, its clear they just want a new skill and dont really care what happens going forward as long as it looks like they care. this goes back to my point about novelty for novelty's sake. so much of the rest of the games problems will now be neglected.

i think this would be a cool idea as well.

my biggest problem with jagex's handling of rsc, even taking them at their own word for why they shut it down (which i struggle to do) is that even with all the game breaking bugs and bot abuses, there could have been a better solution aside from completely discarding 17 years of hard work and investment people had on their accounts. i can give my own suggestions but there will always be contrarians and its clear rsc is not coming back. its just a shame what jagex has done in any case.
