@ Aero I don't think the quarterback matters here. Remember the year the browns went 10-6 with derek anderson at the helm? If you have a strong enough defense and a good running game you can win in the NFL. They have the defense and Ellington has a ton of potential.

Never said that the cardinals strength was their quarterback, i was talking about their defense and how I don't think that is going to carry them past the 49ers and seahawks.. and even the rams.

Reread my thing if you have to but i'll simplify it. They lost two pro-bowl caliber linebackers for the entire season and have nothing but inexperience at the position, aside from 36-year john abraham who is facing a possibly suspension, not to mention lack of depth along an average defense line if an injury occurs. I don't think an elite secondary can win the division, especially considering seattle alone has that and a lot more upfront. You guys just seem to have huge blinders when it comes to realizing how amazing the 49'ers and seattle's rosters truly are, and how competitive this division is going to be. The cardinals have a shot but are no way the front runners to a team that has been to back to back to back NFC championship games... and the returning Superbowl champions.

Being a Rams fan i know my division very well. I was one of the few people last year who said the cardinals could surprise in 2013 and they did, (albeit better than i thought). Even though their offense is very complete, aside from the still questionable offensive line, i dont think its going to finish in the top 10, and i don't think their defense is going to be at the same level it was last season.

... and btw derek anderson lead the browns to a 10-6 record when? like in 07 lol? i wasn't even paying attention to football then i was like 13

I never said Carson Palmer is going to carry the Cardinals but him being fine last year means that with a slightly improved offense they should be fine on that side of the ball. As for the defense you're missing a couple players like Dockett and Larry Foote (Not a Foote fan but it'd be bad to not mention because I'll be mobbed by rabid Steeler fans). Meanwhile Seattle lost Trufant and Browner (Thurmond as well to mention depth) as well as Rice and Tate. Also Red Bryant was cut who was a run stuffer for them for years. Not saying they'll suck but they created holes in their own roster where there really wasn't much of any last year. As for the 49ers their D line looks weaker and so does their secondary. I might be overshooting a bit but I'm not that confident that the Seahawks or 49ers are gonna come out unscathed and with a solid record. So maybe 12-4 was a bit high, we'll see.

Would like to see if the Saints keep up their offense as well as they did without Sproles and Moore (Moore wasn't that good last year but the Saints always had a lot of weapons, just seem to me like they have 1-2 less this year(. Lot of players on that D that stepped up last year so I'm wondering if the new scheme helped them out or if that was a 1 year thing. They could be 13-3 we'll see. They were 11-5 last year so with the improved secondary it does make sense but I didn't peg anyone over 12-4 not sure why.

Only reason I picked the saints to be 11-5 is because of how tough that division is. You have one team that is elite on Offense and Defense (Saints), another team that has an amazing offense (Falcons), and two more teams with standout Defenses (Bucs and Panthers).

Darnell Dockett is pretty overrated and past his prime. He's really overpaid for his production the last couple seasons matt.. And larry foote? that name doesn't exactly strike fear into anybody last time i checked. another over the hill old player whos best seasons are behind him.. There is still 3 gaping holes in the linebackers position and 1upfront with no depth and you are concerned about the seahawks back up cornerbacks and a situational run stuffer? Give me a break.

As far as rice goes he was nothing more than a borderline #2 receiver for the seahawks. He obviously lost a step ever since Farve stopped throwing to him, i don't his loss is very substantial. Tate was obviously there #1 while Harvin was down, but he was asking for significantly more than he was worth. I agree, I think thats going to hurt them, but they made the right decision in letting him go. If Harvin gets hurt you definitely shouldn't feel comfortable with Baldwin as their #1 receiver, but with that said they are fine until that actually happens.

Well as far as Ray Mcdonald and glen dorsey goes there not pro bowlers but they are solid. And then Justin Smith is still performing at a very high level but if you think his production decreases due to age its a definite possibility but even if that happens they have a lot of depth, like Tank Carradine, their second round pick from last year. Their defensive line has a lot less concerns than Arizona's in my mind. Then their Secondary?

Well, Eric Reid had a very solid rookie year at safety, and while they lost Donte Whitner, Antoine(spelling) Bethea may be a step down but is still a solid player. They return two cornerbacks in trumaine brock who is solid and Chris culiver who is average... Im not sure why their secondary looks weak to you. It looks above average if they remain healthy to me.

edit: forgot to mention rookie first rounder Jimmy ward also in that secondary, who is slated to play slot corner
