I got a response from Mod Lovely about ASA.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hey Dr Blackston,

Thanks for getting in touch with us - allow me to help. :)

I have had a look at the "Ancestors Spirits Aura" and can confirm that there is nothing like a skill requirement in order to get what it is supposed to do.

Further, I can confirm that there is only 5 percent chance for the player's ancestors to appear and injure the attacking foe and if you think that it is not working as it is intended then I suggest you pop in a bug report using the link below for our quality team to have a look into it.

So the prayer level has nothing to do with it. My ASA is just messed up.

I also got a Mod response about my issue. Although I won't post the full message, basically Mod Crow stated that I actually have to do damage to the Automatons in order to continue on with the quests, definitely not a bug. Each Automaton had around 7.5k-8k lp which took around 1 hour to recoil each one using Unicorns. I was definitely disappointed to not be able to progress further, but that's alright. I fear that's the same issue with Blackston and the dwarves, however. :c

Edit: So Asa, Weaken, Vengeance do not count.

That was/is a bug with the Elder Kiln. :P

All that Mod response says is that it doesn't require any level to have ASA do what it is suppose to do, which is to do damage at a 5% chance to hit. I don't know what you sent as your question, but it should have had something do to with the amount of damage ASA is doing as opposed ASA actually hitting. If you said something along the line of "ASA isn't working correctly, that it is not hitting how it should," I could see the Mod confusing the damage done with it's 5% chance to hit - if that makes sense to you, having a difficult time trying to word this to make sense. :P

While ASA may not need a specific level to do it's damage, the amount of damage that it inflicts is influenced by your prayer level as my tests would suggest. My ASA wouldn't hit all that high at 0/87 prayer but at 87/87 would hit quite high. Using a protection prayer while using ASA you could see the damage done by ASA going down every hit as my prayer level went down.
Blackston is a Naabe.

Haha! well that's not going to be enough for me sadly. I'm also going to need venged a few times during the fight.
Speaking of which....
Could someone check to see if vengeance doesn't give you experience? I don't think it does... but I'm wanting to be safe and have it confirmed before I try :)

@So close: I understand what your saying :)
anyhow, here's what I wrote before Mod Lovely replied:
-------------------------------------------------------------------

I am having a problem with the Ancestor Spirits Aura (ASA).

My friends are getting it to hit 660+ damage. But when I try it, I've been only able to get a max of 11 damage.

I think it has something to do with the Evolution of Combat. But if their is a skill requirement for it to hit higher... why wasn't it stated when I bought it.

I feel ripped off. A ring of recoil hits more and it doesn't have that 5% hit chance.

Please fix this. The ASA should have a max of 5x your Combat level.

I don't think that message was very specific enough, I could see where the confusion sort of lies there. Hopefully there will be an answer quite soon though Blackston! :c Also for some odd reason, even at 0/71 Defence, I can't seem to be hit by the bandits in Diamond in the Rough.
