i killed dad with a cannon but when i try to pass the gate he just respawns and start attacking me again... and again. Fear the almighty Woo Lord ...

I've got a quick question...
I'm actually trying to get the requirements for Desert Treasure and I'm stuck doing the "Temple of Ikov" quest where you have to defeat the Fire Warrior. I tried to use the instakill dart, but he keeps saying "those puny weapons have no effect on me!". Is it by any means at all possible to kill him without the ice arrows? Or maybe some sort of method?

i believe it was like 4, sorry if my reply is late ; i didnt estimate its remaining hp right when I finished it off

deathtouched dart does NOT work on chompies for chompy bird hunting as it's considered a melee weapon and not quick enough.
the front page of thread says that the quest is minimum hp exp, but to fully kill the chompy you'd have to get the full (13?) or (16?) hp experience if I'm correct.
Are there no alternatives to that? 200m hp Exp / Frost Fox

@Dr Blackston, I think Wise Old Man has Salve (E), I'm not too sure how he did it though. For stronghold I had to hit him with my carrot a few times as the cannon was killing him to get it to register as me actually killing him.

@13 hp, I recoiled him fairly easily and killed him with an ice arrow. The better you guess his hp the less you'll gain. Not sure if ASA would work on him though.

@200m, As far as I'm aware you have to kill the chompy as it is passive and won't attack you, which last I checked is 13hp. I'm still debating if i want to do it. It does unlock quite a few quests, but I'm really close to 12hp now...

If they don't change how xp is given in the beta, nothing really matters about what happens with combat. Cannons, recoils, and any other method you can think of will give hp xp. Even if you attack something, marking it as yours, and someone else kills it with you doing 0 damage, you gain a hefty chunk of hp. I tested this when you could log on with f2p accs. I attacked a giant cockroach and had a friend kill it. End result was me gaining ~70 hp xp for having done no damage to it at all. Blackston is a Naabe.

hmmm do you think that
cannon + asa would work for him?

first asa charge for me: as soon as it hit, he did 199 dammage and killed me.
second time it hit he did 140 damage and owned me... bad luck for me

it would be super hard for asa... as he hits 200 and the chance of asa hitting is 5%

if i attacked him with a flower, would i get xp?

You just have to hit him, not actually do any damage hence the carrot I used. Cannon already registers as you hitting but for some reason it glitches out on Dad and you have to just physically hit him. I didn't have too much of a problem with this as I have pray and just tanked him as the cannon killed him. Not sure if it has anything to do with the dialogue he has which triggers towards him dieing or not.

If you're worried about gaining any xp just lower your attack to 0/1 and flowers should never hit. I always go with Easter Carrot just due to the fact that it will never hit even at 99 attack. Blackston is a Naabe.
