Clarifying the zombie battle part of Dishonour Among Thieves for those without access to Reflect:

Only 2 darts are *required* to pass the armoured zombies for no xp without Reflect, as opposed to the 5 tested earlier. The reason for this is: the melee Armoured Zombies are taggable and can be recoiled with BN + Poison like a standard mob. There are 3 of these in the battle.

The ranged users, however, are typed as 'boss monsters' : these two are not taggable and no combination of recoil-BN-poison-curse spells counts towards the kills to ascend the ladder.

That said, it brings up something interesting that I did not get around to testing which could reduce the dart requirements to just the Foreshadow for those without Reflect, if proven true. Since the ranged AZ are typed as a 'boss' monster, it may be possible to bring them very low with recoils and then finish them with a ~50 physical damage hit for min xp gain. (the maximum recoil proc against AZ is 40 as they max in the mid 300's.) Again, this is not something I was able to test on my playthrough, but could be worthwhile investigating.

That sounds like the case. i noticed when i was recoiling them normally and had a combat daily challenge only the melee ones were triggering a kill. (i didn't do poison then either)
^ but same thing when i went back and did use poison.

how did you find out that there coded as boss monsters? that's interesting

and noooooo i wasted so many darts!!!
lol

you should look into elder kiln quest

I just wanted to add to Diamond in the Rough as I managed to test it myself.

I managed to clear 4/5 normal bandits using this method, accidentally finished one off (rip 12HP xp), but it works the same as The Blood Pact.

Only thing is, you really would need to get your Ranged down to 1/X so you don't hit more than 100.

I managed this by using Bronze Throwing Knives and using the Piercing Shot ability WITH ability queing. I had to take your word on the Bandit King and just used a Dart.

So same as Blood Pact: Que ability, hit once, if poisoned, run to out of combat, then tag once bandit reheals, wait for poison to kill. If not poisoned, run out of combat until bandit rehealed, then try again. I suggest doing only 1 shot per try.

The last fight can be recoiled/BN but even at 0/X defence, they hardly hit any. Usually hit 1s every 20 sec or so. Easy Peasy.

Also, here's an unlisted video on me doing 2 successful kills in DITR:

Generally, the attackable NPCS break down into 2 categories: Taggable mobs that give full xp upon kill to the first hitter, for example the melee AZ in Dishonour, or the guard captain from Tourist Trap.

The other category consists of monsters that cannot be tagged, and instead award a fraction of the monster's experience proportional to the PHYSICAL damage done to it. Examples include Slagilith from One Small Favour, Icefiends on Ice Mountain, the Mourner in West Ardougne you kill for the key in Biohazard. This type of NPC is what I call a 'boss monster type', because the proportional XP mechanic was obviously intended to split experience and drops between groups bossing. These are often also the monsters where you NEED to inflict at least 1 point of physical damage to advance a quest or receive a certain drop.

As a rule of thumb: if an asterisk does not appear next to a monster after being attacking (Example, Attack *Jail Guard level :26) , the monster is a 'boss monster' and should follow the fractional xp rule; I haven't yet seen a 'boss' monster that has not followed this.

Thanks for the info everyone. Will test out Blood Pact this weekend and Diamond in the Rough after monday (maybe it'll be fixed cuz Mod Daze put the Bandits on his list to check for max hits).

I'll keep you updated.

Oh and btw, will a tag by hitting 0 in Diamond in the Rough be good as well? Cuz I have to overload to use confuse to tag.

For Diamond in the Rough tagging the bandits after they are healed is not even necessary; they will drop their drops regardless of tag if killed by poison. :)

Now it's my turn for a question!

Carnillean Rising - previously undoable because of the Blood Pact, but now back into the mix once again. Do you get any xp from Philipe doing damage onto the Cave Wolves?

Heart of Stone
- Recoil, but requires x1 DTD

You need 1 Deathtouched Dart because the Prehistoric abyssal is not affected by Reflect Damage.

For the fight with the assistants, a simple tag and blood necklace/ring of recoil should suffice. You have to kill at least 7 Assistants. And yes you can bring the Blood Necklace to Entrana.

The other puzzles are straight forward.
