The Active Users Online counter for specific subforums does not include yourself. To verify this, simply go to a deserted subforum. You will notice that it will not say anything for the part [number] in this forum .

2.
There were certain subforums that had the censor disabled to allow users to freely communicate when seeking assistance. For example, Community Home and Account Help (previous name) were two of those forums with no censor enabled. Currently, the censor is disabled throughout the Forums.

Stickies with the "Messages posted in this thread will be automatically hidden until approved by a JMod." feature enabled used to allow users to edit their posts even after they had posted. This is no longer possible.

Back in the old days, the Forum Mods list used to highlight the ones that were online. However, this was changed because rule-breakers paid close attention to when the Moderators were not online in order to go on their malicious endeavors.

Following fact number 4, there used to be a Jagex Moderator list which also indicated their online status. This was removed for the same reasons outlined above.

6.
The Rants and Off Topic subforums are not visible to the public. They become visible once you log in.

7.
The Forum Help sticky used to be in General. After that, it belonged to the Community Support Centre subforum and is now part of the Community Home subforum.

8.
Forum Help also had previous names, such as Forum Emergencies and Immediate Attention! (I'm sure it had others, but I do not recall all of them.)

The "The contents of this message have been hidden" message used to disappear from a thread if a post was hidden. Players were confused as to where their post went so this was changed. The same principle applies to the "This thread has been hidden" notice. You are now able to see if a post or thread has been hidden.

The "Bump (#)" was not visible to normal users until the late forum reskin.

You can see a forumer's rank, post count and badge by hovering your cursor over their name under the forum avatar. You can also see their posts within that thread by clicking "Posts by user" .

Under the "Last Post" column, if you click on a thread, it will take you to the last post on that thread.

15.
It is not possible to use the "Show in thread" button on a post that is hidden. That is, if, for example, you post on Forum Help and you wish to see the exact page you posted on, you will not be able to do that through "My Profile" .

When Forum Moderators were introduced back in 2003, they were initially known as Player Moderators. This later changed on June 14th, 2004 when Player Moderators were added to the main game.

The Thread of the Week was a thread chosen by a Jagex Moderator for its excellent content. If a thread was picked, it would receive a sticky for a week. Once the week was over, the thread would be moved to a Hall of Fame until that specific thread was devoured by Chewy.

Stickies were only applied by Jagex Moderators. It is now possible for Forum Moderators to apply a sticky to a thread, subject to a Jagex Moderator's approval.

19.
There used to be a limit of 5 smileys per post. This is no longer the case.

20.
Jagex Moderators can go well beyond the 2,000 characters limit per post.

Hey. I just have a few questions how manny chins should I need from 89-99 range? I was thinking 40k and also if I'm using the mummy method should I use eagle eye? How much extra will it cost me? And how much more exp will it give? I'm guessing drops from mummies won't pay for the pots if I'm using eagle eye so that's why I'm asking. And also after I'm killing my 3x3 square when should I round up more kill them all? Never attack less then 3? Sorry for all the questions thanks in advance

The Specific Rules of each forum was once a sticky on that particular forum. This was later added at the top of each forum as a link to avoid the cluttering of threads.

You may not highlight a Jagex Moderator's post. However, you have the ability to report them in-game.

23.
The ability to link Wiki articles was only reserved for Jagex and Forum Moderators. This was later changed to allow normal users to take advantage of this feature as well.

24.
In the old forums, if a thread you posted on was hidden, you were able to see its hidden state on your profile by a square with squiggly lines. Threads which are hidden are not shown on your profile anymore.

25.
Players who had been permanently banned had the ability to apply for their account reinstatement using the BAR (Banned Account Reinstatement) sticky. They had to pay an undisclosed amount as set by Jagex. This system was also abused and thus it was completely removed. The same thing occurred with roll backs on accounts.

There used to be a sticky titled "Are You Community Focused? where users could let Jagex know they were interested in becoming either a Player or a Forum Moderator. This thread was added on August 2009 and removed many months later. It was recreated but then deleted because it did not fulfill its purpose.

There are no requirements to post on the following forums: Tech Community Support , Community - Account Help & Community Payment Support . Meaning, no membership or skill total required for F2P. This is to allow anyone to post if they are looking for assistance.

28.
If you create a new account and try to click on "My Profile" on the forums before posting for the first time, you will get the following message: "The Forums are temporary unavailable. The forums should be online again in 5 to 10 minutes."

Forum Moderators cannot move a thread that has been made or moved by a Jagex Moderator. For that matter, should a Jagex Moderator edit a thread's title, Forum Moderators cannot edit it afterwards. Only the same or another Jagex Moderator is able to do so.

The highlight system was once used to report a Forum Moderator if someone believed that they had abused their powers or had acted inappropriately/ unmodly . Now, the Moderation Review Thread sticky is used instead and can be found in the Community Home forum.

In the old "My Profile" interface prior to the forum reskin, users were able to individually turn off smileys throughout the forums.

If a Forum Mod becomes a non-mod, any post they have edited while being a Forum Mod, either a normal or a green post, will not have the ability to be edited again as a normal player.

Once a Jagex Moderator edits a post, it cannot be edited again, unless the same Jagex Moderator or another one decides to do so.

Players who had their threads stickied could have used the "Bump" button to bump it. This is no longer possible.

The words "*Official*" and "*Approved*" used to be placed in titles to alert forum users that the thread in question was from a Jagex Moderator or that they have acknowledged the thread itself. It was usually added to well-known threads to keep conversations in one place.

It is possible to appeal a permanent forum ban. Individuals are instructed to send an email to [email protected]­m with the subject line "Forum Ban Appeal". ( Forum Offence System ).

There used to be a "Refresh" button next to the "New Thread" button on each forum. With the recent forum reskin, this was removed. You may use F5 to refresh the page you're on.
