I was hacked in December 2018 and haven't played much since due to being hacked again on several occasions. I never had an issue for 12 years and now i can't seem to secure my account? I now don't even receive emails to change my password or when requesting to change my email address, the email they send me to change this, doesn't come to my email? how am i meant to try and secure my account when i don't receive any emails to change these settings? please help, tia

I just got an email from "Jagex" claiming that a password change was requested. Obviously i didn't request such a change and someone is attempting to breach my account. today is 6/22/2020, and the request was sent to my email address on the same day.

Hello Jagex Team, I am messaging you here begging for help, as I have ONE chance to get help or my account will be lost forever. Account in question was originally named Zamerock747, and was x Angell x up until I was hijacked, and is now Roll 91818.. Please help me.

I am an adult player, who has enjoyed Runescape since the classic days. I have been a helpful, hard skilling, and honest player.
As far as I am aware, I have had no prior offences at all on my account.

Over the past few weeks I have been severely ill and did not use my laptop at all.
Suspicious activity: Prior to this over the span of a few years, I had noticed many of my quests including basic ones like watchtower kept getting rolled back. I have done Watchtower over 7 times lol. I have reached out via bug reports, Facebook, the forum and twitter to get help, and have been awaiting investigation (so surely weird activity should have been noticed anyway?)

I take security very seriously, and I had thought I had two-factor authentication was set up and had received no emails. I recently moved to my partners house and he uses a VPN, so I thought everything was secure. I also had two-factor authentication loaded on my account, and every time I log in I get forced to do those Capture things. I did not think anything untoward had gone on, but now I realise that the Capture thing wasn't two-factor authentication despite having logged into google and everything to turn on.

I urgently need help as Over the past two weeks I was very unwell with Covid and was in no state to be on my laptop. My friends have all confirmed they did not see my character online, continued below:

Anyhow, I tried to log in on 24/7/2020 and got a notification my account was locked. After recovering the account I saw my name was changed and that in the RS Account Messages there was a notification third party activity had been observed on my

account. I tried to log in again to see if anyone had accessed my bank and to my horror, I was redirected to a login screen that said permanently banned. I rushed to the Account status area in account settings and saw that I the account has been banned for Macroing on Old School RuneScape.

I immediately contacted Jagex via Facebook and twitter. I got told there is an appeal a ban page, but this only gives you a few multi choice selections and banning from hijacking and macroing are both indisputable. I have no clue at all how that is supposed to help people like myself who have dedicated over a decade and thousands of dollars in bonds, keys continued below:

membership when we lose everything due to someone else.?!! It is very clear it was not me causing the offence as I NEVER play OSRS!!!

I am praying that by reaching out here my cry for help will be noticed as I can see that everyone else who has experienced this has had no luck and any further attempts to get help are ignored.
As a broke student and caregiver, I do not care so much about the hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of paycheck I wasted on bones to try and get 120 prayer (that was my mistake to invest so much in a game), it is more the years of effort and the friends that I have made who I will lose that is most upsetting.

15 years ago I was in a serious car accident and sustained a brain injury. Runescape was all I had to get through the insomnia and the loneliness in hospital and then home recovering while all friends were out partying. I lost the login info to my account due to amnesia so I started this account and this effectively became my life for a few years. I have a lot emotionally tied to RuneScape, and I finally started playing again properly this year after years of on and off playing because I could finally spend time focusing on things that make me happy again - this game being one of them.

I am EXTREMELY upset that I got hacked and my account was banned as a result.

I have screenshots of the emails where you can see my account was recovered and it shows the new name, and I also have screenshots of the message saying third party activity was detected etc.

I am extremely uncomfortable that these messages were not sent to my email?
What good is it if people are hacked and they are away so they aren't logging into the full website just to read messages, when usually we are used to seeing emails in our email folders such as password, weird logins, purchases etc??

I also feel it is pertinent to mention that according to the Ban notice, the offence was committed on 24/7/2020 which happens to be the exact same day I first tried to log back in, and that it seems this happened after the account was locked?! It said it was done due to a written moderator comment or something? I think that by me trying to log in it somehow showed the system someone somewhere else was trying to macro? Sorry I don't know how macroing really works but I am assuming that's what happened.

I can provide medical evidence and hopefully if I can give you my IP details or something you will also be able to see that I have been offline after a solid streak of playing on RS3 ONLY?!

It is very upsetting that I have no way of getting evidence or anything through but I hope that your own systems that clearly detected third party activity trigger the obvious which is that it was someone else.

Also, my final comment is that as I mentioned, I have been actively seeking (as recently as four weeks ago via forums) support around quests being rolled back and submitted bug reports. I even have screenshots of all of these. it's common sense there is no way I would do anything dodgy if I were asking Jagex to look at my account right? And perhaps, my bug reports are what finally got a response from Jagex which then backfired cos of the hijacker?? There is nowhere online I can actually see whether I have an appeal pending. Some form of contact would be lovely.
