<> Squad Rank Guide <>
<><---------------------<><

NOTE: This Rank is brand new and is still currently being tried out. Please bare with the ranks because they too are learning how this rank works.

What is a "Squad"?
Squad is an acronym for Someone Quickly Utilizing and Defending.

The Role of a Squad is to ensure safe, quick, friendly and healthy games.

A Squad's role includes but is not limited to the following::
1. Memorize the Rules (1.4-1.6) and do rule reminders before and during games.
2. Be Helpful to everyone.
3. Prepare to Recruit when needed (See 2.2).
4. Prepare to Host and/or Challenge at a moments notice (2.5 & 2.6).
5. Play on Open team unless told otherwise (not cure).
6. During K/C, Clear base

The requirements of being a Squad are;
* Memorize the Rules of Sc Safe.
* Have a clear understanding of why each rule exists.
* Be able to function effectively when there are problems and rule breakers.
* Be willing to sacrifice points to make sure others can get theirs.

===1. Do rule reminders ===

Before, After and During games it is important that everyone knows the rules for a healthy experience so be sure to remind them of these rules.

After the 18 minute mark, give a quick rule summary in the FC, such as: "Rules: No fighting, pickpocketing, barriers, armour, or freeloading, and wield a bow with no arrows."

When someone does not follow the rules you will need to remind them of the rules, this is done by:

Inform the player of the consequences if they don't follow the rule. Example:
"If you don't wield a bow, you'll have to sit out a game."

If they still do not follow this rule then get in contact with the supervisor either via pm or friend chat.

<><---------------------<><

=== 2. Be Helpful ===

This is important because people who are not helped and do not get advise will leave the clan. Some people are new to SC and just need to be told what to do. Always be nice and patient when it comes to new people take a little extra time out of the game to ensure they know what they are doing. We were all them a long time ago.

One way you can really help out is make sure you share clay with people and make them tools, bows and anything else that might help them. One day they will return the favour to you.

=== 3. Recruit when needed ===

One role of being a squad is, sometimes we get low on players or we want to start games up for the day. We need the helpful squad ranks to be there to help us recruit.

Please at this time take a look at Page 2, Post 2 to learn everything about how to recruit.

=== 4. Host and/or Challenge ===

Any rank can host but the Squad rank is based on going the extra mile, so we ask that at this time you read the posts on Page 2, Post 5 and 6 about being a host. Host is a simple but very easy way to very much help out and we ask for all Squad's to be prepared and have their Friend Chats set up to do so.

=== 5. Play on Open team. ===

The rank of Squad was made for low combat non cures. To allow this to happen we ask that you always assume that you will be playing on the Open team, unless told otherwise by a Supervisor or Star rank. If you have a good combat, then please take a look at the "Cure Guide".

=== 6. Clear base ===

During the event of a K/c, the Supervisor will tell the Cures to Kill and Contain the PKer. Squads are needed to run to the base of the pkers team and remove all weapons, runes, arrows and armour so that Cures will have a much simpler job at Killing and Containing a Pker.

Reminder: Cures wear armour, not Squads. Cures kill and contain the pkers, a Squad prevents them from attacking furt

<> Squad Rank Expectations <>
<><---------------------<><

Here at Sc Safe we wish to ensure that ranks in the clan does not mean a second job. We want you to have fun and to love doing what you applied to do!

We have a couple Expectations for those who are wishing to apply with us or ones that are already ranks with us.

1. Please play & Squad at least several times a week at SC.

2. Being a Squad rank we might use your friend chat even when your not playing SC, please always have the ignore list up to date (See RBP list for details on who to add).

3. When a supervisor PMS you and asks to use your FC for the Host please do not stall them, answer and rank someone quickly or come play yourself.

4. Recruit some people when needed, the more people the better

5. Please call regularly, as a Squad you most likely play more then others, this will ensure people will learn how to call so the traditions can spread.

6. Be a Mature Role Model. Please help the new people and not fight amongst yourselves.

7. As a Squad rank it is expected of you to support others rank applications so they too can become a rank. You can support Squad, Cure or even Supervisor Applications. UN-supporting also occurs.

Please be aware that these are our Squad Rank Expectations that as a Squad Rank you agree to, not following these will/may cause you to lose your rank.

Note: Applications may take a week before answered, let alone longer to get supported and accepted. The more you play the greater chance at support you have.

<> Cure Introduction (Cure Guide) <>
<><---------------------<><

What is a "Cure"?
Cure is an acronym for Clan Unity Rule Enforcer.

The object of being a Cure is to ensure the fun and safety in our non combat Sc games.

A Cure's job has three steps--and they should be done in this order:
1. Help inform and remind players of the clan rules

2. Help get players to follow the rules if they aren't currently doing so

3. Neutralize players who keep on breaking the rules

If you don't think you can remain polite while someone is killing innocent players and calling you nasty names, please don't apply to be a CURE!

The requirements of being a cure or field cure are;
* Be at least 100 combat.
* Be familiar with the rules of Sc_Safe.
* Have a clear understanding of why each rule exists.
* Be able to function effectively when there are problems and rule breakers.
* Be willing to sacrifice points to make sure others can get theirs.

Please read on to find out how it works.

<> How to be a CURE - Parts 1 & 2: Rules and Reminders <>
<><---------------------<><

Let's look more closely at the three steps in a CURE's job.

1. Help inform and remind players of the rules

Notice it says "help." All players are able to give rule reminders. Regular rule reminders in the cc and in public chat help players learn and remember the rules.

After the 18 minute mark, give a quick rule summary in the cc, such as: "Rules: No fighting, pickpocketing, barriers, armour, fighting, or freeloading, and wield a bow with no arrows."

Informing also happens when players break a rule. Which brings us to:

2. Get players to follow the rules if they aren't

Look especially during the SC game for:
* Players not wielding a bow after the 18 minute mark on the SC timeclock
* Players not in Sc_Safe Friend Chat (any white dots on the minimap)
* Players who aren't Cures wearing armor
* And of course, players pking or pping
*Any other rules they are breaking

This step has two phases.
1) Tell the player the rule. Ask him/her to follow it.
Always be polite when doing this! If you're rude, they're more likely NOT to follow the rule. A simple "<player name>, wield a bow plz" is usually enough.
Players may ask why we have the rule. Give them a quick explanation.

But if they resist following the rule, the second phase is:

2) Inform the player of the consequences if they don't follow the rule.
Always be polite when doing this! Examples:
"If you don't wield a bow, you'll have to sit out a game."
"If you pickpocket again, you'll might be banned from our future games."

If they still do not follow this rule then get in contact with the supervisor either via pm or friend chat.

><>---------------------<><
<> How to be a CURE - Part 3: Implementing Penalties; Kill & Contain <>
<><---------------------<><

What if they don't stop breaking the rules?

This brings us to the third step of a Cure's job:

3. Neutralize players who keep on breaking the rules

If the rule being persistently broken is NOT pking or pickpocketing (pping):

* Tell the Supervisor the player's EXACT name and the rule being broken in the friend chat or in a private message..
* The Supervisor will issue a ban or sit-out depending on the rule.
* The current Sc_Safe FC Host's will add that player to their ignore list until the ban is over. to ensure they do not enter the games.

Rule-breakers may NOT be killed unless they are pking or pping.

For persistent pking or pping, it's time for the last resort:

Kill and Contain (k/c)

Players who continue to attack or pickpocket other players must be killed and then contained in their base in order to protect the rest of the players.

Anyone who sees a pker/pper should report name, color, and location, regardless if you are a cure or not.

It is the Supervisor's job to issue the order to k/c the pker/pper. However, CUREs may k/c pkers or ppers if the supervisor does not reply and a star rank gives the "okay".

CUREs should go to the pker/pper's location.

One CURE should:

1. Politely and persistently explain the rules & consequences of breaking them
2. Try to convince the player to stop pking/pping
3. Report location of the pker/pper in the cc
4. Report the EXACT name of the pker/pper to the Supervisor

Other CUREs should:
1. Kill the pker (NEVER use multi-target spells)
2. Go to the pker's base and kill him/her again every time s/he tries to leave
3. Keep doing this until the game ends
The Cure who killed the pker may pick up and deposit the items dropped by the pker so they cannot be reused, while other Cures go to the pker's base to contain.

Cures should report the EXACT name of the pker/pped.

<> How to be a CURE - Part 4: Armor, Weapons, and Other Fun Stuff <>
<><---------------------<><

Equipping yourself depends on your combat stats and the pkers you will be facing.

Pkers often mage, so ranged is a good primary method of k/c. Wield the best bow you can make; keep arrows in inventory until needed.

Melee pkers are also common. If they have melee armor, they are vulnerable to ancient magic. Use SINGLE TARGET only. 1 itemers need to be killed fast and often with your best combat style. Ancients is effective in containing pkers at the base.

Ranged pkers are less common, but you can carry a dagger just in case.

If you get low on hp, the mystic at your base can heal you.

If you can't kill a pker, keeping him/her busy is the next best thing. Grab or make a dagger and 1-item the pker to keep the focus on you instead of other players.

Armour

Ranged cures can wear full ranged armour. But wearing mage hat and bottom gives better def against mages.

Melee cures may want to wear ranged/mage armor also for better def against mages.

Mage cures should wear a ranged top for better def against melee and ranged pkers. It doesn't reduce your magic attack stats.

It may be worth carrying platelegs for better def against melee & ranged pkers. Wear only when being attacked by one of these.

A few pieces of high-level food can't hurt either.

Cures:

* Should NEVER use multi-target ancient spells
* Should ALWAYS wield a bow, no arrows, unless doing k/c
* Are the only players allowed to attack pkers/ppers
* Must be polite even when dealing with persistent rule-breakers

All players on the CURE team may wear armor in the game for protection.

The Supervisor appoints Cures. Ranked Cures should check in with the Supervisor before going on active Cure duty. Five to Seven active Cures is plenty for the Cure team.

If you have at least 100 combat, a good attitude, and are willing to follow the leaders' decisions, please read all of our rules on page one, read the posts above this one, and then create a post with the following information:

BEFORE EVEN CONSIDERING APPLYING Read the CURE rank expectations.

NOTE: You need to Read the Cure Guide, Host Guide and Recuiting Gude to answer these questions.

Cure: Clan Unity Rule Enforcer Application

1. Combat Level:

2. What is your pvp experience?

3. How should you act toward rule-breakers?

4. How will you respond to a rule-breaker and at what point do you k/c? Who is the only person who can give the k/c call?

5. How will you respond to angry players who don't exactly understand what you are doing?

6. Which spells should you never use?

7. Why do we Recruit? What world do we Recruit on?

8. What is a Example "line" you would say when you recruit? Do you agree that you will attempt to recruit to help out our clan when we are low on players?

9. When do you add/remove a player from your ignore list during active SC games?

10. What is the RBP list and where is it found? (Location in forum too)

11. What players should always be on your ignore list?

12. Why would you be a good choice as a Cure?

13. Do you agree to follow this ranks expectations and have knowledge that not doing so means a removal of the rank unless special cases?

Your application requires support from ranks to be accepted. Please advise any ranks in the fc that you currently have a cure application in and you are available to field cure if they need you. They will post their support if they feel they can support your application. Please do not beg.

Note: Applications may take a week before answered, let alone longer to get supported and accepted. The more you play the greater chance at support you have.
