Did you know, medical professionals learn the names of conditions by following a nomenclature which makes remembering the many conditions a lot easier.

Example:

The ending 'itis' means inflammation, so pericarditis is the inflammation of pericardium. Meningitis is the inflammation of the meninges. Gingivitis is the inflammation of the gingiva.

The term 'stenosis' means the constriction or narrowing of an opening. An example is pyloric stenosis. It just means narrowing of the pylorus.

What made you choose Faith in Honour: On and off since 2005. Would be nice to establish a social aspect on here again. Gone are the days where Old School was current and lobby fishing at Karamja was a bit of a social activity... damn I feel old.

Did you know the bumps on your tongue are not taste buds, rather they are papillae. Taste buds are found in the crypts around the papillae. Taste buds are found not only on the tongue but on the cheeks, palate, and pharynx. They are not found on the gingival membrane (gums).

Did you know Hydrocephalus is a condition that involves the build-up of cerebrospinal fluid, or CSF, a fluid that is produced in the cavities of the brain known as the ventricles. Hydrocephalus can occur due to any of three problems. Due to excess production of CSF, or impaired re-absorption of CSF into the blood stream, or a blockage in the ventricular system. The later being the most common cause of hydrocephalus.
