Clan Rules

General Rules

1. As they are presented, all official Rules of RuneScape are to be followed and enforced to their fullest extent. NSNS resides within the game, and we cannot overrule the law of the land.

× Clan members found breaking rules set by Jagex will be kicked from our clan.

2. In case it is not explicitly clear within the rules set by Jagex, the actions (and attempts) of Scamming, Luring, and Cheating team members out of PvM splits (also considered Scamming) are not tolerated.
» Scamming & Luring: Deceiving another player to gain their wealth
» Cheating: Not splitting drops with your team when previously agreeing to split, or not previously agreeing to no splits

× Any incident of these will result in a kick from our clan.

3. Be respectful towards everyone in this game to the best of your ability.
» Respect your fellow RuneScape players, their opinions, and style of play.
» Do not insult others for not sharing your perspective.
» Any concerns that need to be addressed should be filed with members of our clan’s Rule Enforcement Department. If none are available, go to the highest rank available.

× Appropriate warnings will be given, situation dependent, until it leads to a kick.

4. Do not attempt to prove that you are superior to other clan members or players.
5. Trolling of other clan members will not be tolerated.
» 4 & 5 are treated equally
» Prove Superiority: Elitism; bragging/showing off to make yourself appear better than another

6. To prevent disputes over lost money and/or items, do not PK clan members in dangerous PvP areas or wager in-game wealth against clan members.
» Anything of value that is risked or lost is not the responsibility of NSNS or its leaders; heed the warnings provided in game for loss of wealth in dangerous PvP areas.

Chat Rules
(includes our Clan Chat in game and our Discord Server)

1. Arguing with clan members within our chats is strictly prohibited. Please take discussions of this manner that occur within our Clan Chat, or any channels within our Discord Server to a secluded, private chat area, such as in-game Private Chat, Friend Chat channel, or Direct Message on Discord.
» While debating is part of conversation, and we understand people don't agree on everything, this rule is in place to cover heated arguments that cause tensions between members to rise.
» If the argument doesn't concern other members, please move to another, private chat area.
» If it does concern others, please address your concerns in a respectable manner.
» Obnoxious behavior will be dealt with accordingly, regardless of clan rank.

× Chat may be muted to stop spam. Heed the warnings given at that time.

2. Sensitive Topics : As we have clan members from a variety of backgrounds from around the world, and due to RuneScape being a place where many players go as an escape from the stresses of the real world, discussion of Politics, Religion, Race, Ethnicity, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Identification should be handled with caution.
» You may be asked to drop a discussion or move to a private chat if the conversation becomes argumentative or intentionally offensive.

× Case-by-case. Chat Mute/Demotions/Kicks may follow, situation pending.

3. All chat and chat suggestions, including jokes, referencing suicide (e.g. kys, kms, nys, neck, rope/stool, etc.) are not permitted within our Clan Chat or Discord.
» If this takes place outside of our Clan Chat and Discord, such as DMs, PMs, and other chats in game, no action will be taken unless specifically reported to us because we do not moderate other chat areas.

× Warnings, such as Chat Mute, and reminders to not use those phrases will be made when directed towards other clan members. A kick will follow if it becomes a serious issue.

4. Spam : We define spam as unnecessary and/or excessive text entered with our clan chats. Do not spam within our Chat Channels. This disrupts other conversations that may be occurring and can be annoying to the other players who are online in the chat at that time.
» Allowed: (just examples, not a definitive list)
- Reactions/Responses to expensive drops, pets, and significant achievements
» Not Allowed: (just examples, not a definitive list)
- Random letters/symbols, Caps Lock, Excessive Swearing, Multiple lines for short messages

5. Begging: Asking for trust lends of any amount (cash or items) is strictly prohibited.
» DO NOT ask for anything of value without offering sufficient payment in one trade

Subsection: Loans

» Offering Loans
Under no circumstances should any clan members of NSNS be offering significant loans to other clan members. However, doing so does not breach our clan’s rules. By offering a loan to someone, you acknowledge that under no circumstances is the person receiving the loan guaranteed to return the loaned amount/item in full to you, regardless of any verbal (text) agreements made prior to the acceptance of the second trade screen. You also acknowledge that neither NSNS nor its leaders are responsible for getting unreturned loans back to the account the wealth originated from. By trading away your own wealth to another player, you agree to relinquish no less than 51% of your claim to the amount of the loan, meaning it is no longer your item(s) or cash once it leaves your account.

» Receiving Loans
Under no circumstances should any clan members of NSNS be receiving significant loans from other clan members. However, doing so does not breach our clan’s rules; only asking for loans is explicitly against our rules. In the event that you do receive a loan from another clan member, you agree that the loan received is not your possession and claim no permanent ownership of said loan. You also acknowledge that refusal to return a loan to a clan member upon request is classified as scamming and will actioned upon as such. ~ Sicariu

6. Debates about IRL topics/issues are prohibited within our clan chats as these topics are of no concern to RuneScape and can quickly turn into heated arguments without much notice.
» This is Gielinor; real-world issues, such as political and sports debates, are not relevant here.

7. Chat Language: In order to maintain a common understanding for basic communication between clan members, we ask that all chat within our main chat channels be in English as this is the primary language spoken by members of NSNS.
» We understand our members come from all parts of the globe, but for the sake of finding a common ground, we ask that you only use English within our Clan Chat & Discord.

Promotions

For Non-Admin promotions, our Google doc keeps track of the points our clan members have gained through their activities in game from events logged in their RuneMetrics profile and manual inputs from our Promotions Department. The Google doc also automatically compiles a list of clan members to promote on a bi-weekly basis who have gained a sufficient amount of points to earn a promotion. More specific information on this topic can be found on the Google doc that is linked from our Discord Server.

Admin Promotions are done on a monthly basis through a system of nomination and voting. Anyone ranked General through Overseer can be nominated for a promotion if the time requirement has been met. Specific information regarding Admin Promotions is available for clan members on our Google doc.

All Possible Criteria Considered For Promotions:

» Activeness in: Clan, Clan Chat, Discord, Recruitment Thread, RuneScape
» Attend/Host Clan Events
» Bump Recruitment Thread
» Visit/Cap Citadel
» Clan Loyalty (consecutive time spent in our clan)
» Follow/Enforce Clan Rules
» Leadership
» PvMing Actively
» Recruiting New Members and Responding to Applications ~ Sicariu

Ironman & Alternate Accounts

Ironman Accounts

Ironman accounts are welcome to join our clan; however, please be mindful of how the nature of using an Ironman account may impact your ability to participate in clan activities in game.

Alternate Accounts

Alternate Accounts (Alts) are permitted to join NSNS only under the following conditions:
- The Alt has a main account that is one of our current Clan Members
- The Main Account meets our clan’s required levels
- The Clan Member does not have more than one Alt in our clan below our requirements

Additional Information

1. Each clan member is permitted to have only one alternate account in our clan that does not meet our clan’s requirements.
- If the Alts meet our requirements, there is no limit to this number.
2. Alternate Accounts cannot possess a rank in our clan that exceeds the Main Account’s rank
3. Alternate Accounts are not permitted to possess a clan rank of Admin or higher
- This does not apply if someone ranked Admin+ would like to swap ranks with their Alt as one person cannot have more than one account in our clan with an Admin+ rank.
4. Alternate Accounts belonging to clan members ranked Admin or higher are ranked General
5. Alternate Accounts belonging to non-Admin+ members will possess the same rank as their Main Account
6. Alternate Accounts and Main Accounts share inactivity data
- This means if one account is active, they are both considered active.
7. You are more than welcome to join our Clan Chat as a Guest on your Alt, so it is not necessary to invite your Alt to our clan if you don’t want to. ~ Sicariu

Guesting Policies

Overview

While Guests are welcome in our Clan Chat, we have zero tolerance for disruptions and must enforce strict rules to maintain a safe, peaceful environment for our clan members.

All players who Guest within our Clan Chat and Discord Server are subject to our Guesting Policies, which are enforced by clan members of NSNS who hold a rank of Captain or higher. Under normal circumstances, these policies should be enforced by ranks Admin or higher with Captains and Generals being on standby if no higher ranks are available.

Rules

1. All aforementioned Clan Rules apply to our Guests, and breaking these rules will result in a Kick or Ban, dependent on severity.

2. As a non-clan member, we ask that you do not seek out bossing teams within our Chats unless you are from an allied clan, are a friend of ours, or are clanless and planning to join NSNS at some point in the near future.

3. Guests are not permitted to participate in Clan Member-only events.
» Members of clans allied to NSNS and players who are friends of NSNS are exempt from this; however, all Official Clan Events require clan membership to participate.

4. Lurkers, defined as unknown players who join our Clan Chat channel and do not talk at all, may be kicked from the chat after an arbitrary amount of time.
» Under most circumstances, we may go out of our way to find a reason to kick a lurker.
» The reason for this is that we have no idea what purpose lurkers have joined us for and must assume a worst case scenario.
» To avoid this, simply saying “hello” or “hi” upon joining the Clan Chat will suffice. ~ Sicariu

5. If a Guest joins our Clan Chat to discuss an issue relating to our clan or members, the most of that topic that should be expressed within the Clan Chat itself is asking to speak to a Leader in Private Message or a Friend Chat.
» There is no need to flood our Clan Chat with information that should only be discussed with a Leader.
» e.g. Do not spam our Clan Chat calling someone out as a scammer. Ask to speak with one of our Admin+ ranks (preferably the highest rank online at the time) in PM about the situation so it can be dealt with properly.

6. All instances of Spamming/Trolling will result in a warning or instant kick, dependent on severity.

7. In order to avoid unnecessary spam, please do not join our Clan Chat as a Guest on non-English servers as the joining/leaving broadcasts will be sent in the language of the server you are on and may be considered as spam.

8. Using a secondary account to circumvent a ban and/or hide your true identity from us while in our Clan Chat will result in a kick.

9. Any player who joins our Clan Chat as a Guest and is clearly stalking our clan members will be kicked without warning.

10. Any player who joins our Clan Chat as a Guest and is a member of an unfriendly, or rival, clan may be kicked without warning at the discretion of whoever is online at the time.

11. Any form of advertising in our Clan Chat by a Guest whether it be for another clan, websites, in or out of game services, etc. will result in an immediate kick.

12. Attempting to sell items or in-game services within our Clan Chat will result in an instant kick. ~ Sicariu
