The truth is that someone had stolen it. An insurance claim was submitted and they got a replacement installed from Lowes.

These were due the court case Granny Potterington vs PETA. The Jury found her guilty on all charges and has been placed on probation for the next 5 years. Her lawyer said "this wasn't the best outcome, but at least there was no prison time to keep her away from the church as she truly enjoys the spiritual rejuvenation that bingo night brings her."

We can confirm that there were indeed multiple isolated incidents that had taken place near a Jagex employed NPC's office in Draynor Village during the past week. Several players were hurt, both emotionally and physically, and are currently receiving treatment from our wonderful Customer Support team. The NPC will remain existent and not face immediate deletion at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those that were affected. We greatly hope all our customers will return in the near future to buy lots of Treasure Hunter keys.
