Little is known about the legacy prior to the Mafia Explosion in 2004, however there are several legends and rumors that can be told. From RuneScape Classic to the creation of Mafia City, many small underground systems were born.
Popular amongst F2P worlds, and eventually P2P servers, mafias sprung up and dominated the market. The old wild and the free trade was essential to the mafia's success. It is even spoken that the current Divine Mafia sprung from this era.

Mafia City and Verona were created leading a new life of brotherhood. Mattyworrier, Don of Mafia City, and Roan De Wise, Don Verona; were the founding fathers of the network we know today.

This year, amongst all other years is the most crucial.
::Mafia City vs Kingdom of Varrock
Mafia City was having its own disputes with the Kingdom of Varrock. Many wars took place, but Mafia City made a bold move.
Kingdom of Varrock had been bringing in small parties of outside assistants. The enraged Mafia City took up its arms and called upon the Network. A great battle took place in the wilderness and like a hot knife through butter mafioso cut down the Varrokians.
::Irish Mafia
A mafioso, known as Kajukembo111 created the Irish Mafia which dominated the free trade market. Creating a legacy of his own, Kaj grew his family to be the most wealthy mafia in all history, while laying home to the future 99th Mafia.
::RIP RuneScape
December 2007, a hard hit in the Mafia Genre. The wilderness was closed, free trade died, and the genre was paralyzed. New efforts were made to make money, conduct hits, and live the Mafia lifestyle, but none were equal to what was conducted prior to December 10th. RIP Mafia, see you next year.

A year of a new beginning.
::Gambino Family
First created in 2007, Gambino was not given a name until the Donship of Knight2762. Building a mass army was his goal and he did it well.
::Corleone
Corleone, created by Reinhardt200, was stemmed from the great Verona Family. A group of individuals known as traitors to Verona went ahead and made home to this great clan. However only a few months into its existence did trouble outbreak.
:Corleone Crisis

Another power change took place in The Corleone Family. Then new don, 13thef13 had been chosen by Tonyhughes to take power. Thef had made some changes to his new empire and removed appointed Con_sigiliere Greenbayp04 from office. As always there were two opinions to the reason of this. Tonyhughes returned to the scene and launched a counter attack on The Corleone Family. There was no actual battle however Tonyhughes was defeated. He simply took a leave and left for new powers outside the mafia.

::Follow Up
:After the Corleone Crisis
Corleone from this point on had nothing but troubles. Thef handed donship down to Reks, whom passed it down to more and more people. It took 10 different Dons before Corelone finally had a consistent leader.
With this being said, the Corleone Crisis affected the Corleone Family for nearly 2 years until Xboxyoyo took the family by the legs and built it back ground up.
Although Thef is now a retired RuneScape veteran, Tonyhughes may still be found residing in the Kingdom of Varrock.

Despite the fact the Capones were created in November of 2008, they did not come to light and power until early 2009. Under the leadership of Footballma56, Capones entered a Golden Age in which new faces were entered into the Network. One being Waitinhere, Godfather to Divante and a CEO of Mafia in Focus.

::Genovese
Founded under Luigi2112, Genovese (originally Mafia of Zanaris) was a slow start to a great family. After back and forth quarrels, Luigi retired making Bigm Don. Bigm was able to hold Genovese just long enough to aid Mafia City in the McKnight war. Finally, after seeing that Genovese was going no where, Bigm left the clan to die until Luigi took it back and gave it to iHess36. It was then that Genovese was able to start its legacy.
:Genovese is now a subclan to "The Mafia" and is once again led by Bigm.
:: Divine
Created many years ago, Divine was brought upon the Forum Community in early 2009. A large family with great power, Isildur558 was able to gain power and influence fast all while holding his ground and respect.
::McKnights
Offspring to the late Frater Family, McKnights were created at the End of March 2009. On its first day, they were met with hostility by Mafia City as it copied material from her thread.
When asked to remove all content, Bowmaster466, known as McKnighter12, refused a fire was lit.
War was threatened by Genovese, Divine, Capones, and Mafia City. With this being said, McKnights quickly ran to the aid of allies and unions. A move which proved to be smart.
:: Divante
Divante quickly grew as a branch of the Capones by Fbm, but it was later brought under WaitinHere's conrol.
During this time tensions between Divante and Genovese grew and a war broke out. Controversies on both sides of the battle made it hard to declare a winner, however tensions did decrease.

:McKnight vs Mafia City
June 2009, War was called. Nearly 100 people showed to fight on both sides. A single round would determine history. A single round that would last one hour.
Both sides fought hard, both sides fought long. McKnights and Allies quickly gained control of the Multy combat area forcing Mafia City and allies to hold back.
Orders were shouted but no one listened. Mattyworrier called a flank on McKnights that would have won the war, yet orders were misinterpreted and everyone charged the middle. The chat filled up with orders to fall back but all was too late. McKnights pulled out with a win as McKnighter himself killed Matty.
: Divine vs McKnight
Aggravated by the recent loss to McKnights and her allies, Isildur558 declared a 1vs1 war on the McKnights. However McKnighter failed to accept the terms and they resolved to do a Union war.
29th June 2009 – The Divine Mafias war against the McKnights, aided by TGA saw a solid victory. With 99:95 warriors 1st round, 39 soldiers standing, and a fun rematch outnumbered 85:95 and still winning, Divine and TGA proved itself on this day against an alliance near three times its size.
::Murder Inc
Murder Inc was a racketeering organization created by iHess36 and The Genovese Family Mafia. Specializing in Hits, Spying, and corrupting, Murder Inc was quickly able to get full resume. Corrupting 2 kingdoms, 1 union, 2 Mafias, killing 2 dons, 1 underboss, and negotiating peace with the White Water Police Department are just a few things it completed during its time, and its still around to this day.

::RMC
The RuneScape Mafia Commission, created in the later months of 2009. In an effort to save a crumbling network (thanks to Boop) and boost moral after McKnight vs Mafia City. Isildur558 was able to successfully bond all families and organize events and meetings that prior to RMC went extinct. RMC helped rebuild the network to its current state and re-bond old friendships

::99th Mafia Returns
After being laid to rest indefinitely by Booperdee2 in 2008, he comes back and resurrects the mafia. 99th Mafia was known for its wealth just as equally as Irish, for the creator came from Irish himself. However After Boop took over Donship for the first time, he closed it to Join Mafia City. However, he decided it was time for him to quit Mafia City after being in the clan for a year.
99th grew quickly as old members of the clan came back. 99th stayed to itself for quite sometime until a war broke out.
:99th vs Divine
Divine, now led by Gw Josep1, declared a war on Booperdee after several flame wars broke out. Boop then took the initiative to call it a turf war and to invite allies. It was thanks to 99th's allies that Divine lost.
However, Divine again declared war on 99th for her turf back. This time 1vs1. After the 2nd war with 99th, Divine was able to get back all her turf.

::The Mafia
The Mafia was formally known as the Genovese Mafia. Hess, being disgusted by the lack of realism in the network claimed all other mafias to be phonies.
:Expansion
Under The Mafia, several subclans came about. Several included older families such as Capones, and other newly created families such as De Luca and the newly reformed Genovese. They were also able to gain control of the RuneScape Mafia Network as well as several other Racketeering organizations.
:Irish Conflict
Conflict broke out between Irish and The Mafia. Led by Razor7633 and Babypower, The Mafia had several verbal arguments and political battles between the two. Finally, in an attempt to give up, Babypower disbanded the Irish Mafia. It was then that The Mafia took Irish over so it will never see the light of day again.
::Gambino
After Knight decided to no longer partake in the network, Anders is currently the don and the situation remains the same.
