Process for recruiting new FC Mods
1. A potentially suitable candidate is recommended to the team by one of the current FC Moderators.
2. A minimum two week period is given, to give other FC Mods who may be less familiar with the candidate, a chance to watch them and develop an opinion. This period may be greater if that process is taking longer, for example if the person recommended is on a different time zone or is currently not so active.
3. Current FC mods feedback their views on the proposed FC mod to the team.
4. The team arrive at a consensus on whether to invite them or not.
5. If it is decided that the candidate is suitable, the one of the Curators will invite them to help out on the team.
FC Mod Removals
We anticipate that the need for enforced removal of FC mod permissions will be extremely rare, as we choose players to invite very carefully and cautiously. However, it would be foolish to assume that the need for that to happen will never arise.
There are certain expectations of those who moderate the chat, which if they persistently ignore, will necessitate the removal of their star in FC. That doesn’t necessarily mean they have done something terrible, just that they are unwilling to take on the limitations that the role involves regarding the way they interact with others. To some extent, there are higher expectations of FC mods than there are of other FC users, and that does not necessarily suit everyone.
To protect the person’s privacy, reasons for a compulsory removal of their FC mod responsibilities will not be posted publicly, unless they choose to raise it publicly themselves. They are of course free to tell anyone else they wish to themselves and would still be very welcome in the chat of course.
Also, to state the obvious, any FC moderator is free to step down from their volunteering at any time they wish to, either for a temporary period or permanently.
