Hi, old as dirt dude talking here. One side not staking land is not against the history of w31. It's against the modern history. In the most ancient days I recall entire wars fought over cities.

For example a spartan group attacked the White Knight city of Falador. The only stake was Falador, but the knights got to pick time, battlefield, everything pretty much. A "we're the defenders, you're the invaders" kinda thing.
