I think anyone would be right to lose their calm and throw a few insults around if they had awoken one morning to find their thread with the first (nine, I think it was?) pages spammed with irrelevant nonsense. But, the same happened very recently this year where extracts of the Communist Manifesto were posted on a thread I was managing on behalf of a friend, but I realised the errors of how I dealt with it the first time so this time I simply called the mods and did not retaliate.
What brought on the coalition war? I would say a mixture of things. On the one hand, I was very provocative and some of the things produced by individuals in the Republic of Zaros (such as the propaganda videos) were large causes. But also a xenophobia among the POCs at the time against newer clans such as the Republic. The military might of the Republic was very small, meaning that of course we were easy targets for a coalition of major POCs with a much higher, unfair military advantage. You must also bear in mind I was allowed no allies, or that would become a 'forfeit'.
I believe it would have been justified if only the parties concerned declared war. Fair enough if I claimed someone's land and THEY declared war on me, but to invite all of their friends along to have ins on the fun was very unfair. Perhaps some of the things I said were provoking people, but in declaring war you are condemning an entire clan based on the actions of one person. With the added pressure of outsiders following this specific war, the Republic fell apart. But it was also internally unstable enough with all the internal political conflicts, and my looming inactivity.
