We were born in World 82, as World 83 territory was all spoken for at the time. However, me and Digory decided that we would continue to be heavily invested in World 83 affairs. After the first few months we traded our undying support for EOF in return for like Dragontooth Isle so that we could be a World 83 clan in reality. Now if you thought World 83 politics were tumultuous, TUIE's problems were infinite. After the banning of Bondorama I began to plot a revolution against Digory Barns. I was found out, and turned in. The people that were following me were jailed for two weeks, and I was let off the hook. Founders have power. Me and Digory began to fight often, and I planned another overthrow. That one failed. Our Prime Minister was caught trying to overthrow the both of us, and he was banned and Parliament dissolved. Four spies were found trying to recruit people into a rival clan, who we declared war on. That war spiraled into a cold war no real big deal there. We fought in the World 83 Alliance against Robertjones6, which was led by Saradomin's Holy Empire, our closest ally. The Islanders performed well, and personally I was recognized by the Emperor and Empress of SHE, as well as EOF and Kingdom of Avalon's leadership. Shortly after, Digory resigned, and King Nate57 became King of the Islands. He was a good King, but an inactive one, and he left after about a month placing a guy named Cruckshank on the throne. Cruckshank was a bad king. Flat out. Not intelligent, poor decision making, got into fights, but this was when he bothered to log in at all. So, third times the charm, I planned a revolution, and did successfully overthrow the guy. So I became King, called myself an Emperor, and began to build the clan up. I didn't do anything special, just maintained.

We went through a number of Empresses, one of those being Demon Paria. She was a wild human being, and the person who eventually forced the Empress before her to step down. She was likable, and dedicated to the roleplay. But she was very very bad for the clan. A lot of people hated her. My right hand man she referred to as a lap dog eventually quit cause of her. She started fights. She made our allies dislike us. She eventually got us into a war with some other clan over some triviality. She almost started a civil war. And I didn't do much but patch the holes where they appeared. Eventually I confronted her, and as I had more power and influence, forced her to resign. In her stead, rose a lady named Lizardmad. Very fantastic Empress. She mended the wounds, she made friends of enemies, and brought good times to us all. Liz didn't stay all that long though and she resigned. A man named Prifddanas was promoted to the position of Commandant in the Military, and he became a fast friend. When I decided it was time for me to resign, Dwarf26 took the reigns, and I left RuneScape for a few months. When I returned, Lizardmad and Prifddanas came to me with an offer. Lets start a new clan. The name we decided on was the Empire of Swords.

TUIE went downhill very fast - Demon Paria returned to become Empress, but she just caused problems then left. Then they slowly died until July 2012 when they merged into EOS after Dwarf left and gave the clan to Stone Spirit - the last active person of TUIE who had gone to EOS months before.

The Empire of Swords started on World 22. We had a lot of solid recruits including Groovebarns, Kyorg Fish, and Hbt. Kyorg was second in command of the military, Hbt led the Guards, and Groove was a guard. Prif - as head of the military, pushed for a war. I concurred, thinking it would bring us together as a clan. So we found the Blackhawk Wolves of World 98. We used some weak ass pretense to declare war. This turned into a massive, brutal flame war between us, and eventually it came down to Liz saying "Either you knock this **** off or I leave." And I did. I knocked that **** off. But Hbt couldn't help himself, and I went to bed one night, and woke up the next morning without an Empress. This was a huge blow to us, she was a huge part of the Empire, she was our greatest recruiter. Personally it hurt me too. I felt like I had done wrong. Hbt then began fighting with Kyorg and caused a civil war. At this, I dissolved the clan, and declared it a failure. Around two weeks later Prif came to me and said he wanted to start again. I said whatever go for it, I'm about to go on break I'll come talk to you when I get back. Two months later I logged on to be crowned Emperor once again, and found a small functioning clan. From here we prospered, and rose to a very healthy state. When I decided that we had been doing very well I made the clan an actual Republic. We elected our leaders. And I was elected cause I was the leader and everyone knew the name. But **** happens. That summer was very prosperous for us, and we began to involve ourselves in World 83 politics once again.

Our goal was to eventually claim land on World 83. Nothing major. Just something here and there. I sent people to talk to Mafia City and EOF and KOV and KOY. They laughed. For the most part. Prif came back one day to say, excitedly that KOY would talk to us. So we sat down with KOY's leadership. Six million GP later the Empire of Swords was in possession of a significant chunk of Kandarin. ******* Ardougne, wow. We were pumped. It was a huge victory for us. Through more diplomacy we acquired Ape Atoll, and a few other islands and territories around the globe. We were set. But yes, we were small fish in a big pond. We didn't have much power. So I immediately made war plans. We'd wager our new land, and try to reclaim land that was lost by our allies. KOV supported this. KOV was very excited about this. EOF eventually gave leave to this plan. But our enemies found out. And they told. And this ruined relations between us and MC and Zirak Kingdom. Someone then went to Emulated, King of KOV, and told him I was in the process of double crossing him, and aiming to steal land from other empires. Which was total bull ****. But Emulated never once said another word to me. That was it. Our very close alliance was stretched thin. Eventually, I broke it. They were treating us like **** for no reason. But I digress. EOF became our very close ally, and they helped make sure no harm came to us. We were still expanding at this point, but then the summer ended and it hit us hard. Just as quickly as we came onto World 83, we were almost kicked off. The Republic was almost dead. We were foundering, and I wasn't there to fix it. I had gotten just as busy as the rest of the clan, and I couldn't get online. So I promoted a guy good at events. That was it. That was his claim to fame. No real leadership qualities that were obvious, nothing special about him except he liked to do events.

And Lonely Jester will forever be one of the most underrated people in our Empire. The most unsung of any hero in any clan. He was promoted to Vice President, and he saved the Republic. He kept it alive. Just barely, but he grabbed us by the balls and marched us back away from darkness. And he did it quietly. He barely said a word. Ever. And he ******* saved us. One day I came on and the citadel was dilapidated all the way down to Tier 1. And that was the day we turned around. I gathered the entire clan in those ashes, that dark, run down excuse for a clan gathering place, and I told them it would never happen again. I would not let it happen again. So we rebuilt as a Roman themed Empire (hence that wonderful purple and gold garb I sported for all that time). We began to grow after that, but those were very stressful days early on, and the pressure of the rest of the community watching us didn't help the situation any.

So that's how relations broke down between KOV and EOS. One of the most significant foreign policy crisis that EOS took part in was the Coalition. What was EOS' rationale behind it, and what was that experience like for you? Are critics correct in saying that you only entered into the conflict in order to make EOS more known on W83? (This is sort of backed up by you forging a war on that W98 clan).

Critics would absolutely be correct in saying that was my rationale. I had reasons sure. I hated KOV ever since TUIE warred against Robertjones because KOV acted like they won that war single handedly. KOV's leadership had been arrogant and condescending during land negotiations with EOS. And Emulated's reign put me over the edge. So when our war declaration aired these accusations against KOV, they were not lies. But they weren't a good reason to war someone. When Ryan began voicing concerns that KOV needed to be put in their place, I immediately began campaigning for a war. It was a great opportunity. We needed our name out there, and we had a large amount of people to throw around. So I voted war, and I took my empire with me. That's one thing you must understand, the KOVian royals will come here and talk of the disputes they had with their significant others, but I was a dictator. A true absolute monarch in his prime. We didn't even have a prince rank until recently. So when I decided that war was the best way, nobody was in a position to disagree. My high ranks had no idea we were entering into a war until I told them to be prepared to fight one a few days before the declaration. Regardless, we entered into the war. Our people got behind it 100%. A lot of our events were raids on KOV's territory. And I was definitely waving the flag and calling on all true patriots to begin our righteous war against KOV. We took to the streets and other clans saw us and knew us. And we went to the negotiation table, being one of the few allies that chose to stand by EOF. And at the table, I made myself heard, gaudy clothing and all, and I made Exar's name known, and I made everyone know that the Empire of Swords was a clan, and we were here to stay.

And it worked. That's the most important part in all this. When the land trade offer came, late in the negotiations, EOS was getting the prettiest piece of the pie by far. Zirak Kingdom allied us, and we accepted out of the necessity of having a united anti-KOV front. We grew even more, and brought high levels into the mix. And we were ready to come down with all the wrath of god upon you guys. Till you brought those god be damned warring clans in. That's when I lost heart, and decided this was no longer worth it. When it was obvious we'd lose. Ha. Well that got us out there. We are now very intimately involved in not only World 83 affairs, but off world affairs too. We came to Varrock's aid against Mafia City, we declared war on that guy who claimed Ardougne, we ****** up ROZ, and we had plans to land war around Kandarin. We were - by your count - the second strongest military in the world. And it was the good life. All cause of the Coalition.
