Jimmy silently watched as the port bustled to life with the news of a pirate attack on Draynor. Sipping from a tin cup, he would lean against the inn's doorframe.

Things were getting too dangerous for their crew to be anywhere near the ports, let alone the waters. Luckily, their ships were hidden in a cove on the other side of Rimmington, as to not bring suspicion to the kingdom's sailors.

But even then, it was rather obvious that they weren't fisherman, nor members of any of the kingdom's crews. The other pirates had long since left, whether it were to flee to a safer place, or maybe to conduct raids, much like the one in Draynor. With the other kingdoms and empires announcing the execution of any pirate, Jimmy had no doubt, that after the attack on the neighboring village, that this would more than likely be the case for the Kingdom of Varrock.

The sound of someone clearing their throat would cause him to turn his head, glancing over his shoulder to see Lazarus peering at him, "What's going on out there?"

Jimmy made his way in and sat down at one of the tables, Lazarus following suit. "There's been an attack on Draynor." "I see..." "We're going to have to move inland, it's the safest route."

Lazarus scratched at his beard, "Aye... we don't want to end up like some of our associates from the other regions." Jimmy sat his cup down and stood, "I'll wake the crew and have them get ready." "Very good."

Jimmy would make his way to the bunk room, Lazarus staring at the tin cup he left behind before his gaze drifted towards the barkeep, the only other in the room. The barkeep's gaze quickly dropped from Lazarus, to the glass he was cleaning.

Lazarus' squinted his eyes, grinding his teeth, he would stand and follow into the bunk room after Jimmy, to inform he and the men, they needed to pick up the pace.

Homecoming

"It's so nice to see you again, Dear." Maria would smile happily across the table at her daughter, "And you too, Rnoy!"

The pair would sit on the other side of the table, sipping tea and taking the occassional bite of a cookie. "I'm glad everything's been well here." April would nod, matching her mother's smile. "Yes, but it's a shame that things have gotten out of hand in Varrock.." Patricia, April's other mother, would frown, "I mean, the Queen was almost murdered!"

"Nothing April couldn't handle." Rnoy grinned over to the girl. The women gasped, "April saved her?!" "With the help of a young gentleman, yes." "Oh my..." "We never got specifics on the attack, only that it had happened, and then the Queen pulled through.. but that was your doing, and this mystery boy?" Patricia waggled her brows.

"Yes, she was attacked using blood magic. The boy, Jon, he also uses blood magic, and was able to absorb any of the remaining remnants of the taint, and I made the cure to heal her." Her mothers looked at eachother in awe, then back to their daughter.

"Your daughter is quite talented." Rnoy took another sip before resting the cup back on the table, "But if what I heard is true, you all know that here, don't you?"

"Ah yes..." Maria would nod, "The Oneiromancer calls her the Star Child." Leaning in close, she would whisper, "There are even rumors that she is planning on one day appointing April in her place." "Mother!" April would frown, "It's nonsense, such things shouldn't even be muttered about."

"Oh don't worry your pretty little head, Darling." Patricia would stand and take her cup to the sink, "That's a far ways off, anyways." Maria would nod, "But I'm sure she would like to know of your deeds in Varrock, between delivering the Queen's child, and saving her life..."

"I... I don't want to brag." April looked down at her hands in her lap. "It's not bragging, April." Rnoy would pat her shoulder reassuringly.

"Besides, there was something I wished to discuss with her." "Oh?" Patricia would rejoin them at the table, "What about?" "Well, due to the recent circumstances, especially with all that happened with the Queen, I feel we will need the assistance of the Moon Clan..."

Both women would nod, "I suppose many places do lack healers..." "Yes, when I was Archmage, April was the only one of my pupils who knew healing abilities..."

"That's not surprising." A voice would echo from the doorway. All four heads spun to see the Oneiromancer in all her spiritual beauty, standing in the archway. "We don't just go around giving our secrets to anyone, after all. You of all people, should know this, Duke." She would join them, standing near the table.

"Out for an afternoon stroll, are we, Your Grace?" All the women in the room would bow their heads to her, Rnoy hesitantly following suit. "Yes, and I so happened to hear myself mentioned... And then heard our dear April's voice." She would smile sincerely down at the girl, "How are you, Dear?"

April would smile awkwardly and nod, "I'm fine, thank you, Your Grace." "I have heard of your deeds, and seen them for myself." "Keep a close eye on her, don't you?" Rnoy would smirk. "And you, Rnoy." She would move around the other side of the table, closer to him, "Your dreams have been ailing you.." He would wince, "Eh, just a few bad ones, nothing more." "Mmm.. yes.." She wasn't convinced. "But.. onto the business of this.. alliance?"

"Yes..." Rnoy would straighten in his seat, "I know it is much to ask... and I don't wish to seem like we're using your people.." "I know you are far more sincere than to do that, Duke." "If you wish, I could have our runecrafters from the Wizards' Tower aid and supply you with further runes for your magic."

The Oneiromancer would ponder for several moments, then nod, "This sounds reasonable..." She would offer her hand to Rnoy, "If you wish, I shall send with you both a handful of our best to be stationed throughout your lands." He would stand and take her hand, shaking it, "Then we have a deal."

Cain exited the Pharoah’s room. He thought about hiding the truth about his recent conversation ( If you can call voices in your head a conversation? ) with Asim from his friends. As he passed a mirror, he saw that the expression of terror was as plain as day in his own eyes. Probably for the best to tell them, he reasoned.

Divinus was floating around in the next room, staring over yet another ancient tome, presumably in preparation for the casting of the spell to save Dayan. He turned around as Cain entered the room.

Divinus scanned Cain up and down with his eyes. “You look terrible,” he said, plainly.

“You’re not quite so beautiful yourself,” Cain retorted.

“What’s wrong? You see a ghost or something?”

“Does Asim count as a ghost?” Cain asked.

“You spoke with Asim?! Cain…that’s dangerous. You should have called me over immediately!”

“It’s not like I started the conversation. He sort of just…entered my mind a bit. I guess he can do that to people nearby. Also, me trying to intervene to save Dayan sure didn’t help, I would think.”

Divinus examined Cain quickly for any signs of possession. When he was satisfied that Cain was still the naïve little fool that he was, he took a sigh of relief, and sat back down.

“Tell me everything. What did he say? What information did he get out of you?”

“Wow. You assumed I gave him information right off the bat. I’ll have you know that I didn’t tell Asim anything. Asim is under the impression that the knowledge to defeat him has been lost to the ages. And I decided that he shouldn’t know that we know, because if he knew that we knew then he’d know that we know and we’d lose the element of surprise for knowing what we know.”

Divinus chuckled. “You still surprise me. Very good. What else? There must be more…”

Cain fiddled with his hat as he thought back to the conversation. “He told me that there was a…trident that was special to Dayan. That it was pretty much the only thing still keeping light in his mind and standing against Asim’s dark powers. Do you know anything about it?”

“Hmm…well, it is possible that this trident only exists in Dayan’s mind. Perhaps it is just a symbol for his mind to rally around. Though, it is also possible that the trident is very real…” it seemed to bother Divinus that he didn’t have the answer, for once.

“Yeah, Asim seemed pretty obsessed with destroying it. He’s kind of messed up in the head. He said he was a construct of the gods. I don’t think he can think for himself. I told him to just try and let go of this whole ‘divine mandate’ thing. You know?”

“You didn’t really think that someone pretty much molded by the gods for the duty of defending the throne from foreigners would just give up, did you?” Divinus sighed.

“Well, it was worth a try.”

Ridley popped into the room from the shadows. “Well, what did he say next? This is the most interesting news all day! Finally, we get to hear from this coward.”

Cain jumped a bit, but oddly enough, he was getting more and more used to these shadow-based interruptions. “You seem rather cheery today, Ridley. Were you listening the whole time?”

“Eh, long enough. My previous engagements bored me.”

“I guess I’ll continue then,” Cain said. “Asim asked me to help him destroy the trident, and he told me he’d offer anything in return.”

Ridley turned to Cain with an elevated sense of attention. “You mean…anything?”

“Yeah, he tried to tempt me with all of these terrible ideas. He told me that I could take the throne, and that I could have power and wealth, and all this other nonsense.”

“I take it you said no?” Divinus questioned.

“Of course I said no! I just want to save Dayan."

“Excellent. Now, can you think of anything else important that was said? Take your time, but know that it is critical that we know all we can about Asim.”

“Well…he doesn’t think I’m strong enough to stop him. He also doesn’t think anyone is powerful enough to stop him.”

Ridley scoffed at that. “He hasn’t met me.

“He said that most of Dayan’s world is covered in darkness,” Cain continued. “Also, he said some sort of cryptic rhyme at the end…let me think…” Cain would scratch his head. “It went ‘I am the creator, through thick and thin, my time is sunset then I begin, worlds of men and beasts I make, to me these things are not fake. Uhh…something something I will kill, I am the tyrant and creator but not at will.”

Ridley seemed amused. “How did you manage to remember all that? Is it because it rhymed?”

Cain blushed. “I mean, it did help…”

Divinus scribbled it down. “Well, this is definitely something to think on. Anyway, let’s get to work on the spell. Do we have the bane ore?”

“Yeah, our order from the Grand Exchange came in. It’s amazing what money can buy,” Cain remarked. “Also, we’ve recovered some of Asim’s remains from the epic battle with Dayan here in the city. We should be able to tune the ore to this as soon as possible.”

“Well, what are you waiting for? Do it!” Ridley demanded.

“Patience, Ridley. These things take time…” Divinus explained.

Ridley sighed. “Fine, whatever, do your lunar magic thing. When you’re ready to actually get rid of Asim, just call for me.”

To Eric Stranferd - Varrock D.L.A Base

,.•°“*ï†ï*“°•.,`'°«„†„»°'´,.•°“*ï†ï*“°•.,

To my right hand man who holds command of the Varrock D.L.A base,
I am informing you that my visits to the foriegn base will be much less in the coming weeks.
Boundary scouts are spotting pirates getting ever closer to the islands. I know at this point predict casualties and possible raids. I am needed more here and thus, I will not spearhead the issue that is the Morytanian threat. I will see to it that a Wushankian diplomat makes a public appearance in Varrock as soon as I can.

Stay vigiliant. Trust no one. Protect the empires interest.
I will monitor the situation in the south. Be prepared to move out if things get dire.
Let us hope our ships can defend the empire.

A Hitman

The sun almost hit its high noon. Under the heat of the Kharidian sun and hidden within the corners of the Emir's city, a mysterious figure clad in blue and black with a golden mask concealing his true self took time to reflect on many things. Not even a single citizen of Al Kharid managed to set his eyes on the figure, for the figure perfectly blended himself with the shadows of the alley.

He muttered to himself. Hmmm, I know you are somewhere... around here. His thoughts indicated that he wished to meet whoever currently takes charge of the Northern Kharidian commandery stationed in the Emir's city. At the same time, he seemed to have deeper motives for meeting whoever leads the commandery.

Nothing for now is known of the interest of the mysterious figure. All known for now is that he has business with the local Commander. What is it then?

His eyes gazed on the chapter house nearby. Slowly, he blended in with a small crowd as he approached his target.
