Only if there's some sort of character limit, and I think that instead of it being a personalized message, instead it should be a list of things that someone should either already know about clans, or which they should ask about (also dependent on whether they're p2p). For example:
Welcome to [name of clan]! Get excited for a whole host of clan perks, such as:
- CItadel
- Free xp from citadel plots
- Skilling bonuses if you're on the same world with a clan avatar with that buff activated, and orts in order to "redeem" these bonuses
- Clan fealty and free xp
- Clan forums
If recruits have any questions, they can thenceforth speak to a live clan representative by pressing star.
Also, live welcomes are so much more meaningful than automated messages, but I understand where you're coming from with this suggestion. I think advertising generic clan resources are the biggest benefit of such a welcome message, and Jagex could also mention which perks are p2p to those who are even f2p, to encourage them to learn more about the "benefits of membership"
Good point but in a clan that has some weekly events which are always the same i feel there needs to be a way to mention this kind of thing. Such as in my clan we host a weekly penguin hunt same time every week.
Being able to do this would be so much easier especially if it mentions citadel reset times and the clans structure
clan EternalBlaze-
description
All welcome to join! Social clan, no req!
Problem with free text in this game is that it would need to be moderated, it's the main reason why we can never name pets and stuff. The problem persists for this too.
Tbh, i prefer a personal approach rather then some automated message, where there's action reaction going back'n'forth
I'm not opposed to the idea of a template tho. Some ideas pop to mind. Not making the effort now to start brainstorming about this. Anyways, not untill we get some sort of "hmm this is a good idea, we can do something with this" From Jmods
