Imo clans are much more about community than tools for gaining extra xp. If clans are to be highlighted, I would prefer it is done in a way that highlights the social aspect rather than trying to bribe players in with the usual lure of xp.

How could you highlight Social Aspects of clans? I personally agree. But is there an actual way to do it? Like I said in a previous post, Clans need something aside from Clan Wars, which only the elite clans can excel in.

The odd double xp here and there wont change the "quality" of the content nor peoples enjoyment of it, its just a little xp boost people will take advantage of every now and then and will go back to forgetting about it.

One could make this argument for Double XP Weekends in the main game as well. It's just an excuse to get 99 in skills at half off. Not improving the quality nor peoples enjoyment of it. But everyone participates.

I would much rather see capping becoming easier as a way of drawing people in, rather than increasing the exp.

Such as not so click intensive.

Lets be honest Capping is suppose to be a social chill out for clan members not somewhere to grind for 1 hour to 2 hours.

An incentive for me is to have the capping more chilled.

I couldn't see this as a viable option since it's already fairly simple as is. Making it easier would only, as Scret said, flog a dead horse. Making it easier wouldn't exactly make it more social either. It would shorten the amount of time you'd have to socialize.

Yup DXP is just a gimmick too, same logic for sure.

Don't like it, not a fan of double XP in the first place. The XP rates in the Citadel are already very high and make levelling up easy. The problem is that so many overpowered methods have been added that make the Citadel less appealing. If you look at the XP rates and the XP needed for level 99 combined with the effort it takes to cap, the Citadel is quite rewarding.

If Jagex actually wants clans to be appealing, they should really change combat. Combat is simply a huge part of the game, and most combat-based content is solo/duo based now. Being in a clan is no advantage at all, and it's also not very fun to even train together with clan mates as, without voice chat, you can't really have a conversation either. I remember when it was actually rewarding to bring more people to a PvM trip. But now, it's just about bringing as few people as possible while still being able to farm a boss. The most efficient number of players to farm a boss with becomes lower and lower, and Jagex keeps catering to that by releasing more powerful weapons and abilities. The more powerful a single player becomes, the less they need friends/clans. Which harms us.

Time doesn't have to be shortened but less click intensive

So, as a practical matter, if there were to be a double XP weekend at Citadels only or for Clans only, all the trolls, clowns, idiots etc would join a clan in time to participate, get their bonus XP and either quit or intentionally get kicked.

And mature clanless players would join clans to get the XP and stay if they enjoyed the experience.

I am OK with this as long as you can convince all the trolls and clowns to join some other clan and we are somehow able to only get the mature players we would actually want in our clan.

Its too easy to "fake it" long enough to get accepted into a clan and I see a lot of potential problems here. Our clan does not need lots of new problem members, and this game certainly doesn't need more opportunities for bonus XP.
