We have a 7 person council that manages the clan, with each council member responsible for leading one of our committees (events, etc.) As with any volunteer group supporting a video gaming clan, it works very well in some cases and not as well in others. We hold council elections periodically and seat 3 or 4 members at a time to keep continuity for the council as members shift.

As a clan that was created in 2006 as an offshoot a clan managed by a single person who made some unpopular decisions, its probably important for us not to have one person making decisions, for those that remember the history. And yes, the 2 co-founders from 2006 are still members and a lot of people go back that far. (I joined later.) When I took over as "owner" in the Jagex clan system soon after it was introduced into the game, we didn't tell anyone - we just kept on going. Our clan is based offsite, and the cc in game is just part of it. I never act as "owner" in game, just as an active clan member. And I have to run for council like anyone else when my term is up. PM is always on if you ever want to discuss.

((And as someone often says on here, we are at our best when nobody really notices us.))

I would consider our design to be similar to the UN. Those that are organizer+ get to actively vote on issues. Anyone in the clan can offer feedback. And then there's about 3-5 of us with veto power/the ability to implement things that we believe are beneficial without NEEDING to consult first. We do however discuss everything we've done or if it needs changing 36/38 Boss Pets
