I disagree. Giving people an actual reason to rank up in a clan is more important. Being able to summon an avatar was meant to be for people who worked hard and earned their rank, or it wouldn't have been released for Admin+ ranks at all. Every clan is different, so doing this would change some clans drastically while it might benefit other kinds. An update like this would go against how I lead my clan and what we believe to be important.

This, however, is a great idea. People choosing what kind of buff they want helps a much wider range of people within a clan and isn't specific to just what the avatar warden chooses for themselves.

He said he would speak to Mod Osborne to see if he could push the avatar up the list and if he can then he would be willing to release it as it currently is. The most recent update Mod Moltare has given is that he has commitment that it will be done in 3 months (so end of November - early December).

So not to far away.

I want to believe this is true, but based off of Jagex's promises in the past, I just can't. How many times have they said they are working on something, or that it will be released at a certain time and it turns out that it's not? Last I heard, nothing clan related was on Jagex's top 10 updates for Runescape, so for all we know, it might not come out for the next 2 years.

From what I've read in the past, we are keeping the avatars, they will just be cosmetic. The buff, however, might only apply to 1 world at a time. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure they were planning on creating something to attune to in the citadel that will grant buffs for a week, and the avatar would not be required to be summoned to access them.

The reason it was made Admin+ is because the act of summoning/dismissing the interacts with coding and only Admin+ rank have the ability to do so. i.e ranking/deranking, upgrading/downgrading plots.

The top 10 updates are big updates which would get a significant amount of resources I'm sure. The avatar stuff was done in Mod Moltare and Mod Asherz TAPP time which is not affected by the top 10 stuff.

The one thing I love about the Clan Leader Forum is how brutally honest Mod Maz + Mod Matthe and Mod Moltare are, if something isn't doable they will bluntly say it isn't doable and if it is they will say it is and if they can add it to a list of sorts or as part of their TAPP time. Mod Moltare has done a tremendous amount for clans and if he said it will happen then believe that it will.

I've said that before, too. I feel as if we get 'frank and fearless' answers to questions we ask here. All the Mods M ftw.

You're assuming that the only reason people join Clans is to use the Avatars; I encourage you to abandon this mindset as the real reason people generally join clans is to be part of a group and feel included/play with others.

Players do not expect Avatar holding permissions when they join clans; this is explicitly clear based on how few players request Avatar access when you examine threads on the "Looking for a Clan" section. If the average clan member really cared about Avatars then it would come up far more frequently on the LFC section.

Plus, if your statement was true, then I'd have a clan of 500 people and a waiting list to join, as we let everyone summon Avatars and we have open recruitment (i.e. anyone can recruit.)
