Woken by eldest child telling me they were ready for school and could they watch gaming videos. At 5:38am.
Hey, at least it gets him up!! And that he doesn't want to miss school just because he wants to watch gaming videos! When I was in elementary school, I would wake up at 7am to watch Dragon Tales--and as a child I hated getting up earlier. Powerful stuff man, don't kill your child's dreams of being excited to wake up in the morning

Errr, yes? All JMods are monsters!
do you live under my bed, and are you responsible for my nightmares?
Agreed that Shauny definitely has a lot of passion for the community, and that he has an outlet for that passion. I'm just concerned that his passion will be taken advantage of by unsavory characters typical of jmod fc's, and that his care for the community is an invitation to manipulate him with personal pleas. Also, saying no to one thing means saying yes to another.
I went to a really good talk by a pastor who said that "Saying no to leading a free sermon at a struggling church means saying yes to spending time with my wife and children," and that helped me put things in perspective. It's akin to saying no to being helpful to strangers and meeting new people, so you can uphold pre-existing relationships.
The same can be said when clannies I don't really have a personal connection with ask for help in pm; in response, I direct them to ask in the clan channel so that others can benefit from our exchange, and so that I don't have to be the one holding their hand.
I guess what I'm trying to get at with Shauny is he nor anyone, for that matter, shouldn't feel obliged to help people out, just for the sake of helping people out, and only respond to pleas that would give the most amount of self satisfaction, or contribute the most toward his/your goals. For example, if Shauny supported Clam's
MegaWar
, then that would promote an interesting aspect of the Runescape community that not a lot of people have heard about--the clan warring community.
If Shauny sees this--don't forget to be deliberate!!
P.S. I do respect Shauny a lot and I look up to him, but at the same time I've seen people try to take advantage of his time and not properly acknowledge what he personally does for them. As in, they show him off as a jmod, all "ooh look I have a jmod friend" and don't interact with him as a genuine person. This is more the case in jmod fc's, whereas Reddit is really good at being down-to-earth.
