So your complaint is that you feel Mod Matthe spends too much time checking the clan leader access thread and too many clan leaders are allowed access? I.e, the requirements are too low?


If so, sorry I disagree, I would love to see more clan leaders having access, even brand new leaders. I feel they can give a different perspective on running a clan and what sort of things are needed nowadays to keep a clan healthy, plus what ever problems new clans are having. Their views may be focused on totally different issues than we here have. :)

With more clan leaders in here we can have more ideas & a more vibrant forum.
I think your attempt at humour is in no way funny, & has no place here.

I think the criteria needs re-examining, but I also think that you worded the opening post terribly; in such a manner that was obviously going to receive negative reaction.

Access does not need to be "exclusive" - it does however, need to only go to sustainable Clans (I.E. ones that aren't just going to die after 6 months).

I'm not a fan of the whole "Legacy Leader" thing that goes on too - I think if someone goes completely inactive , then they should be removed from the CLF. Only if someone was literally leading a clan for years, to the point in which the curator deems their leadership skills to be favourable, should they remain as a 'legacy' leader.

TBH i don't think there's anything wrong with the original post. You're only responsible for what you mean to say, not for how people interpret what you are saying.
Something written does not always carry over everything you actually want to say. Its only the words, not the feelings, humor, nuances, winks etc...

To the point of the actual question; Mathe has loads of work with this part of the forum, should the requirements change?

Imo, it should not.

The requirements;
I think the current requirements are fine as they are. Having a clan for over half a year, with a minimum of 50 members, more or less indicates that there is at least a minimum of experience in having a clan which makes input in this part of the forum useful.
Is it as a clanleader veteran, or as a newbie clan leader, all could be equally useful.

The work this costs for the mods
I'm sure its quite the job to do, on top of all the rest that might seem more important.
However, Imo the time Mathe and others spending on this access thread, is basically an investment in the future of the game, clans and this part of the forum.
Loads of people seem to not read the requirements and apply anyway, in the hope that they will get access regardless. I think those are an unnecessary workload, and maybe, that's where something can be done one way or another.

Those who actually gain access
I gather this is not one of your concerns as its not mentioned in the original post? In that case, this is a personal note :)
If you frequently read the clf threads, its mostly always the same people making posts, react etc etc. However that does not mean that others aren't lurking. I'm sure for some entering this part of the forum is about prestige only, but that's something you can't stop tbh.
Its basically working as our clans idea of recruiting, recruit loads without requirements, to eventually find that one that will make a difference.

If it is your "my member didn't bot" thread, you should never have posted it, and it should have been locked on the spot. What you are doing right now, is you are making this forum curators feel guilty for being tolerant and wanting to help out (where they didn't instantly locked your thread).

I think this thread has had enough exposure now and am locking it now.

We do not currently intend to change the requirements of joining - both the 50 clannies and 6 month criteria have value and the numbers themselves feel about right.

The Legacy Leader issue is not something we can change sadly without binning the current CLF and starting all over again. It is not possible to pull a list of current CLF access holders or to then compare that to current CLF access appropriate for the individual. So we will not be removing Legacy Leaders.
