I'm not going to be drawn into answering every individual question because it'll take far too long.

The answer to pretty much everything, though, is that you can log into more than one account at a time. Provided you do not break any rules whilst doing so, then we will not penalise players. With that said, we hope that everyone plays within the spirit of the game.
So you can break the rules, as long as you're not breaking a rule whilst breaking the rules? I'm still going to advise clan members not to do it, this is disgusting.

Edit: I said a naughty word, thought it best I remove it.

Ok, we have straight from the RuneScape Rules about multi-logging:

Multiple logging-in
You are free to create more than one account, but if you do, you must not log into more than one at any time, and the accounts must not interact with each other in any way.

Why do we have this rule?
We have this rule to maintain a fair gaming experience. We don’t want our games to become games where everyone feels they need to use multiple accounts at once just to compete! It’s much better to team up with your friends.

Then from Mod Balance:

The rule has not changed, and as MMGs comments suggest, these days we apply the rule with a common sense approach (as we do all rules). If anyone is multi-logging and transferring wealth, this will attract our suspicion, and the accounts involved will be investigated. If there is nothing untoward in how that wealth was generated, then we will take no action – if, however, any of the wealth was generated through any rule breaking activity (e.g. gold farming, botting, RWT), then we will take action against all accounts involved.

The rule contradicts Mod Balance in that account interaction is allowed and because both accounts are logged in at the same time, multi-logging is allowed.

With that being said, there is no change in the game rule to allow for this, the P Mods I have spoken to have said according to their guidelines multi-logging is still a reportable offense and "common sense" is subjective according to the person using said "common sense".

There needs to be clear, concise definitions from both Jagex and in any threads like this so there is no grey area what so ever. Otherwise the first rule could be enforced and hard earned levels could be lost due to account bans.

Until such time as we get that, if we do, there is no guarantee your account won't get banned. Just my observation on this.

The above is what I posted on that thread. And I am getting questions about what is ok and what isn't now and can not honestly answer. At this point I am just advising to not multi log until we can get something clarified.

Can we log into two accounts and play them both? i.e. - one in runespan and one doing dungeons? No interaction there at all but multi logging.

Or is this for wealth transfer only and then you have to log out?

Way too much that isn't clear and I've worked too hard to lose my accounts by not understanding what is being said, but have no idea what to tell clannies other than don't do it yet.

Any one else have any suggestions? What are you telling your clanmates?

I can see that this has attracted a lot of attention, so to clarify:

The rule has not changed, and as MMGs comments suggest, these days we apply the rule with a common sense approach (as we do all rules). If anyone is multi-logging and transferring wealth, this will attract our suspicion, and the accounts involved will be investigated. If there is nothing untoward in how that wealth was generated, then we will take no action – if, however, any of the wealth was generated through any rule breaking activity (e.g. gold farming, botting, RWT), then we will take action against all accounts involved.

From the player perspective, the same common sense rule applies - if you think that you might be breaking a rule, or what you are doing is not in the spirit of fair play, then you are best off avoiding it as this could result in action being taken against your account.

We don’t want to stifle genuine game play, and we hope you’ll agree that this approach is best for all.

This to me translates to the following;

1. Yes its still technically against the rules

2. No we don't plan on actually enforcing this rule for the every day player, we have better things to do.

3. If we find that you are doing it to launder ill gotten money then yes we will do something to you.

4. Yes we have ways of knowing.

Summary of the summary:
It seems that rule has evolved into nothing more than just another way for Jagex to track down and kill gold farmers, bots, etc.

Towards the end I think he pretty much nails it. If you think its bad then don't do it, but don't expect it to rain fire and brimstone if you do unless you are breaking another rule as well.
