12) Do you doubt on your abilities as clan leader from time to time?
ALL the time!! I assumed the position while deputy, and eventually going through a handover to me (I was given plenty of opportunity to say no, and it was checked that I wasn't pressured into it) in which I never actively decided to become clan leader, it was more a position I took on gradually because I felt there was a need and it would be unfair to leave that. I guess because of all that, I never had that moment where I thought "I can be a clan leader. I'll do that!!" So I never think of myself as having all the relevant abilities. In particular, I know I'm horrendous at conflict. I hate it and find it really difficult to confront someone about anything. I'm learning though, I guess… I'm also very glad to have some very good ranks and clan members around me, because I can't even choose the TV channel, never mind make decisions that affect a clan!

13) Do you attend all the events your clan has in a week?
Yes! But because we don't have any fully set up. We try and run things, but the turn out can be appalling. I ran two penguin runs a week for a little while, and found it was just me… But then, it can be difficult to make everyone aware. We're working on our events though, particularly with other clans, and hopefully we'll get a few more going. I can't see myself being able to attend all of them though, I have 2 jobs, am a student (and student representative) and have other aspects of my life, all of which takes time! :-P

14) Do you always read the applications new members post before accepting them?
We don't really have an application process, so I guess not. But if someone posts the form we have on our recruitment thread for getting to know them, I love reading!

15) Are you happy with your clan as it is now?
Love it!! We have plenty of plans for improving, but whatever state it's in, with the members we have, I looove it!

1) What kind of events does your clan like to do?
We have a wide range of interests, but we're small, so it's near impossible to get a lot of people interested in a particular event. We're trying all sorts though, slowly…. :-P

2) How old is your clan and how long have you been leading it?
The clan started in December 2011, and I've been a member of it since… Err February(?) 2012. I ranked steadily and was an admin for quite a while, which got me used to those kinds of ranks and prepared me. I assumed the leadership role unofficially… err… slowly… And have been the official leader for the last couple/few months. (Gosh I'm bad with dates eh?)

3) How does your clan handle ranking?
We use a system of nominate/discuss. So our ranks nominate other clan members for a rank (or other ranks for a promotion) and we set aside time to discuss them as a team. We look at things like activity in the clan chat, friendliness, welcoming, enthusiasm, willingness to help the clan and its members, and a decent degree of knowledge of the game and the clan. They'll have been here at least a month, but as long as we see they're settled and know the clan well enough, time in the clan is no impediment to ranking.

4) Does your clan have any requirements for new members?
Nope, other than a willingness to treat clan mates with respect and get involved in the chat and clan life.

5) Do you have many admin+ ranks in your clan?
I guess we do have quite a lot. I hadn't thought of it as a lot, but 10% of our membership is admin+. Huh…

6) Does your clan have a clan citadel?
Yes! I love citadel! We're tier 7 now, working on a dragon.

7) What updates would you like to see in the future to help run/ improve your clan?
I'm a citi girl… Any citadel updates are a "YAAAAAY" moment for me. :-P But some ways of improving communication would be awesome, it's probably our biggest issue at the moment for organising events.

It was nice to read that Ani, welcome to the forums! I'm fairly new myself and my posts of these questionnaires are just a few pages back.

A very warm welcome from me to this forum anyway - as a fairly new clan owner, you'll pick up lots of ideas from here which I'm sure will benefit your clan massively.

I did read your responses, Zander (while finding out if people actually answered the questions, before I made a fool of myself), sounds like you've had an eventful time of clan leadership!

It looks like a great forum though, I'm looking forward to reading some more!
