Hi Clan Leaders :)

I believe there's going to be a news post about clans being posted sometime in the near future and I was wondering...

What are you hoping to see in the news post about clans?

The news post is part of a review that was done of clans to look at all of the suggestions that have been made, and to look at what should come next in terms of clan-focused content. It was mentioned in the Clan Leader Discord by Mod Moltare about 2 weeks ago.

I'm hoping to find out more about how new players will be encouraged to join a clan, and I'm also hoping to find out if the Citadel will be replaced with something that feels more rewarding, and social.

Feel free to discuss your expectations and what you're hoping to see :)

Very nice topic to discuss, I was very excited when Mod Moltare was suggesting removing of upkeep but also other topics.

I'll mention his quotes/topics that he had raised with the community staff and "Dave" from Clan Leader Discord as below:

- Replacing citadel with something surface-world focused (Existing citadel won't go unrewarded)
- Better rank and recruit management
- Not making clans primarily competitive (unfair advantage to larger clans)
- Better backend synch
- A backend viewer
- Sending player data while offline/across worlds to save 'has capped' flags stored on clan synced with player saves

He also made a speculation that there could be upgradeable skilling plots like citadel to allow all clans to use the same physical loc but see their own clan's appearance and let outsiders join in for a reduced rate of some useful resource they can't get elsewhere - This idea sounded very attractive in my opinion to promote clans.

Something interesting to remember that Moltare mentioned from Clan Leader Discord as well is:

29/09/2017
"As a gentle caution, while the CLF is a major voice in the discussion, you are not the only people I am keeping in mind when it comes to these changes.
"You weigh heavier than most groups per unit size because of your investment and involvement, but I don't intend to treat you with deference; only respect"

Given that Moltare doesn't work for Jagex any more, *he* won't be treating us with anything.

That's true however he did have a chat with relevant parties in Jagex before his departure presenting the quotes I've posted

I think Jagex need to make a distinction first.... between making content more group orientated or actual clan updates.

I'd love to see the removal of upkeep, and to be honest a rework of the code to make it easier to work with in the future. Jagex burying their head wont sole anything.

I think at this point, people want to see the avatar update released for this year , with some sort of expectation that we will get a proportionally bigger update for 2018.

Indeed people do hence why I fought hard with Mod Moltare to convince him to not wait for the cosmetic part of the update which he has been waiting for since February. After my conversation with him he spoke to Mod Osborne about taking it off the TAPP list and putting it on the main release schedule.

It's just a matter of it getting QA and it can then be released as per my conversation with him. So heres hoping we do see it this year as its taken 10 months.....

Honestly, Id like to see anything right now.

How long have we waited for an avatar update? Im not sure about others but giving people an admin role where they have automatic powers has always been a concern. Is this an easy thing to change?

I would also like to see our Clan xp and rank updated a lot more frequently than it is now, I have heard it has to be updated manually? Surely this can be done daily and if not at least weekly.

Runeclans trackers are able to do this, why can't Jagexs?

There are so many clans that have less than 5 members and even the ones left are inactive, is there a way these can be deleted?

Removing inactives from the CC is time consuming and tedious, can we make lif easier for the Owners please?

Does anyone use the jobs you can allocate ingame? We use the Avatar Warden only, what are the reasons for having others?

As for other things that would support maintainng and running our communities I have given up that Jagex will ever see the need to help and support us.

I hope they prove me wrong however.
