Hi, first thread here :>

I'm looking for advice as a member of my clan has been hacked and is apparently unable to recover his account. The person who hacked them has been causing a few problems in my clan chat and has even tried to sell the account.

Right now we've demoted him to recruit and made required rank to talk corporal+, don't want to kick him as we'd lose his clan xp and he'd have to start again when / if he gets his account back.

Any suggestions on what else I can do to get this resolved?

I'd kindly ask you not post that in the flag a concern thread as that is something you are not meant to do as seen below in what you are not meant to post about.

On top of that Mod MattHe is a Community Manager so unable to help with account issues.

My advice would be for your clannie to tweet @JagexSupport with their RSN and ask for it to be locked or you can do it on their behalf.

If you both do not have a Twitter account I'd highly advice checking out Salubrious thread Here and following the steps.

From what I understand, there is a player that been trying to cause drama in Pros' clan for quite some time. That is why I directed him/her to the flag a concern thread.

I also linked the correct account support page in the second post, where the player can recover his account.

We had a similar issue to this, except the clanmate fell victim to a "search for [name] on youtube to win a 100m competition" type hack. The hacker than proceeded to set up the autotyping script to work in both public chat and our clan chat. We kicked him and added him to the ban list until his account was recovered, then asked him to provide answers to a few basic questions that would prove it was him (How long have you been in the clan? yes notify them of the drama that is going on but don't use it as a way to help recover a clan members account, as mentioned mod MattHe is a community mod and this matter would need to be taken to the accounts team.

I've had to deal with this about three times throughout leadership so far.

In my case I always just kick the account, no matter the consequences. I know it's unfortunate but I do this so there are no risks of the hacker doing further damage (such as pretending to be the original account owner and scamming clan mates..as they could still PM even if muted in the CC..).

If the account owner recovers their account adds as much protection to it as possible, THEN they are welcome back into the clan. °
