Was there a reason for this being removed specifically from DarkScape, but not the main game? As far as I am aware, Clans work in exactly the same way on both variations of the game.

I imagine this would be the case as citadel and capping is not a big thing in darkscape and as such that restriction was removed, whereas in the main game citadel and capping is more prevalent when it comes to capping and is to stop people "buying cappers" and other people for Jagex clan competitions and such.

Darkscape is jagex new sandbox. They use it to oy with certain changes before dropping them here. Might be that they do plan to change things but want to examine it small scale. If citadel is the only difference between the two games then we already had a system before which works in exactly the same way as it does now.

The new 7 day cool-down hasnt changed our restrictions on the citadel.

The reason it was in-game on Runescape was:

1) The delay on new Clan Members being able to function as a full member of the Clan ie Citadel skilling.
2) The ability of individuals to leave one Clan and take part in activities, including the Clan Cup, as a member of another Clan straight away. There was a significant issue with this during the Clan Cup and led to disqualifications.
3) That "Clan Hoppers" caused significant concern to a number of Clans and were something we wanted to address.

- Since no citadel and avatar buff or any Clan Cups so far it was a bit not needed....

There are loads of differences between the two including a bunch of Clan functionality, most notably Citadels, not being present. That is the reason why we have removed the cooldown/probation system from DarkScape, because it serves little purpose in that game given the differences between the two.

Everything about citadels was already covered in the old probation system, the new system changes nothing about the way citadels are restricted.
