Clan Permission Rewrite

We need the ability to mute someone that has been abusing the clan rules rather than kick them form the clan. Or make a rank to put folks in that can not speak.
I would often rather mute folks in the cc than have them removed from the clan all together. The rest of the ranks in my clan are used. We could use more ranks over all.
We need to go to a toggle system so that you can toggle all options clan related on off per rank as you see fit. This would be a system that everyone would be thrilled with having. This would make it so we can tailor our clans to our own specialized formats by doing this.

I have hoped for this kind of format since the days of the beginning of the re working of clans. I hope to see this system implemented.

From what I understand they are unable to acquire the resources to make this update happen (at least in a timely fashion), and therefor decided that in 2015 they will be looking for individual pieces of this update to implement instead. The ability to mute individuals is one of these pieces, so we have that coming eventually.

Yes, the Permissions Rewrite as it stood had become an enormous piece of work. Hence we looked to break useful sections out of it with an eye to developing those in a more timely fashion.

This please. I think we need a mute or temp ban system such as in the old friend's chats to deal with a disruptive clan mate.

... It's wise to start pieces of the system here and there... Ultimately though, it's only worth being done if it's done RIGHT and IN-FULL. I do anticipate and expect a FULL development of the Clan Permissions System within another year's time. Anything worth doing, is only worth doing RIGHT. Not half-axe'd.

Personally, I will continue to push the Rewrite until it's PROPER completion. I encourage the rest of the CLF to keep the pressure on as well, and not settle for less. This isn't just for us either, it is factually, a COMMUNITY update, as there will always be more players that become involved with clans. Remember that.

Honestly I think RuneLabs could be a very good things for clans, the reason clans don't get much love is that the development team is incredibly small. If we get clan stuff put on runelabs and get our members to vote for them we could show Jagex that the community cares about clan updates and they might expand the team a little...
