Our clan lost a valued clan leader to cancer in March and it was a difficult time for us all.

I was curious how to go about asking someone at Jagex if they would consider adding a certain name to the interface as a name choice for player pets? I have not told the clan I am asking this, I don't want to get their hopes up. Our leader had a nickname that would be a cute and family friendly pet name.

I requested to be added to this clan leaders forum so I could ask this.
Any direction on how I can request this? I figure it can't hurt to ask :)

Thanks

You could tell us your late clan leaders name on the first post and ask us to support you :P

But is this right? I think this would be abusing the forums and doubt they would do it anyway.
Best to make a clan forum honoring him if you want - if it doesn't turn out the way you planned.

I'm not sure if "Our clan leader died of cancer and we'd like to honor him by having Jagex do something about it" is the most valid reason for a new pet name, unless there's a meaningful story about your clan leader's name *and* a Runescape pet.

As such, I'd like to resound

's suggestion--I'm sure it would be more meaningful and personal if you guys yourselves personalized something for your late clan leader, whether that be naming a clan avatar, citadel building, or clan meeting location after him, or even a thread in the Clan Home forums about what he did and what he was like. to inspire other clans of what he meant to you guys.

You can also post on the "Player Compliments" sticky in the Compliments forum, and encourage your clannies to do the same, to show the world how meaningful your leader was to so many people.

I'm sorry that your clan leader is no longer with you, but I'm sure he'd appreciate a sentiment more personal and intimate than a drop-down pet name option :)

First of all our sympathies on the loss of your friend.

However it is sadly not an addition we could make to the game, sorry.

He would have gotten a kick from it but I do understand. Didn't want to put his name because I think there is a rule about that.

We have an off site forum and facebook and paid tribute to him there.

But like I said, didn't hurt to ask :)

You could always write a little blurb about them on your clan page or a forum thread within the clan page?

Maybe an annual 'clan cancer walk' in their memory?

Nickname an avatar after them?

Sorry you lost them. My uncle passed away from cancer. He was my bestest dungeoneering buddy. :'(

We named out Citadel Dragon after our clan mate who lost the fight to brian Cancer, and each year in October we dress in pink while his cancer was not breast cancer its the time he passed and we honor him by making people aware of making sure you get regular checks to catch this horrible killer.

So sorry to hear of your loss, its a hard thing when a community is so close to loose one of their own :(

Thanks all :)

Great ideas, I will host a runescape parade for Batty in March.

Edit: Actually we will probably have a slayer week for him, that was his RS passion and we could keep RS a little safer for the rest of you hehe :)
