Clans deserve a lot more than just being mentioned, we deserve to see "UPCOMING UPDATES FOR CLAN" posted across the Runescape website. We have been waiting for a very long time for anything to happen with clans on a larger scale. Thanks to the JMods that have been updating the clans and clan citadels along the way, but we as a group deserve a lot more than just a few small update. We deserve to be recognized a key part of Runescape (Some JMods see that clans are key but do not push for updates), and that without clans the Runescape world wouldn't be the same. Bosses are one thing that is nice to have in a game, but after a while, there can only be one boss that can hold "THE HARDEST BOSS IN RUNESCAPE" we have seen this title thrown around a lot, and nothing will change. A group of players, potentially even a CLAN will defeat this boss within the first day-week. There is nothing a GROUP of people can't accomplish, but right now we deserve to see CLAN UPDATES. We have been waiting for a very long time, and have not been given the respect that we do deserve. It has been a long time since we've gotten an update.

- LATEST CLAN UPDATES -
---28 September 2011 - "Clan Citadels"
---6 March 2012 - "Clan Fealty"
---14 August 2012 - "Your New Secret Weapon: Clan Avatars!"
---31 March 2014 - "Clan Admin Broadcasts"

..........
It has been a long time since we've seen any updates to clans/clan citadels. We have been waiting for a very long time, and we have only seen a few minor updates to clans. Runefest was the best place for Jagex to give clans some love, and I don't believe they have thought enough about how clans affect the overall game.

New members want clans because they don't know what they're doing.
Old coming-back members want clans because they need to figure out the new game
PVMERS - PVM Clans
Skillers - Skilling Clans
The list goes on and on...

This is a transcript of the RuneScape Reveals speech Mod Mark gave at RuneFest 2017.
"Clans
70% of you are members of a clan, and while it's not something we're working on today, it's something the whole studio want to see in development for 2018."
translates:
"Even though most of you are involved with clans, We have no updates planned.
We think it would be cool though!"

Lol we still have hope, but I think a lot of us are sick of the talk.
It's time for action.......... at an unspecified point of time in the future.

Haha we're all a bit doom & gloom at the moment, but I do like the staff changes, I think we have a Mod on our side who's more about action.

We need a dedicated team that won't be harvested for other projects.

The current percentage of active members in Clans is 60%. I believe active members for this purpose is "players with current membership who have been active within the last 7 days". That is up slightly on this time 2 years ago and significantly up on this time 4 years ago.
10% more players are in a clan now than April 2016 yet we're having to result to panhandling.

No point anymore in waiting. Jagex will do what they will as they see fit. Not going to waste any more of my time being angry.

I think that's ungenerous. "Our" JMods have been good about keeping clans before the eyes of the powers that be, but it's not simply Ask And Have.

And Shauny at least got us a few things. I know if my clannies ask for something difficult to achieve, I at least try and give them *something*.

And feel pretty narked if they gripe about the best I was able to do. Reckon we should be grateful, not blame the messenger for the intractability of the Top Tier.

The problem I have with Jagex at this point is their neglection of clans. I know that a few Mods have been working on clans here and there, but there is no "dedicated team" to making clan updates. We have been waiting for a very long time for problems with clans to be updated/removed. We cannot rely on a few JMods to help fix all of these problems.

I feel like Jagex has forgotten about the clans and no longer bother with us as a large scale project. They say they "want to do something with us" yet we are the last project on the board at all times. We deserve a lot better than to be last for this. We make Runescape "Runescape", or at least that's how it should be.

It would be nice to see some dedication to clans, clans are what keep a lot of people in the game, the friendships they build within. idk there is little communication on forums these days along with it, so many people who use to put some great views and topics forward have all just given up. Sad when such a strong group seems to be reduced as it has been over the past number of years.

I just get more and more frustrated with how Clans and us as a group of people that spend a lot of time making them a success are ignored.

It becomes increasingly difficult to keep members active in the CC.

We have over 400 members but only 50 or so are active in the CC and on our offsite forums. We have 4 or 5 events weekly, again only 10 or so members attend.

Why would they interact with members when they spend 99% of their time ingame by training AFK skills?

We have not got elite pvmers to go on raid etc and other group activities. Its a struggle to recruit as the vast majority now want pvm clans.

We have a few members including myself that would no longer be playing this game if I was clanlesss. I am confident that there are a few hundred that this applies to.

I didn't attend Runefest this year, but chose to be in London with my members, I have given up believing all the empty promises Jagex throw at us. I am still waiting for the reveals from the past year of Runefest.

It strikes me that Jagex only "respect" streamers that they believe bring more people into this game and seem to favour a small group of players that manage to massage their egos. Maybe they need to look at the bread and butter of the people that play the game. Clans are the foundation of the game, we hold up and support the game by keeping people returning and of course paying membership. How short sighted of jagex to ignore and throw more empty promises at us, the people that genuinely care.

I wonder if Clans will still be around for this huge 5 year plan, or will they only have OSRS to ruin?
