Sigh....
I can't believe I am having to post this.
I am curious,
If a discord were made for the clan community as a whole, would you join?
It wouldn't be this exclusive club, which was originally created years ago as a resource to avail clan communities a means of communicating directly with Jagex, which has long since been outdated by the advent of various social media systems, like twitter.
My idea is to have someone create a discord that allows CLF members to apply for special userrights.
These can then allow access to other leaders of their community who might not have CLF access, but who are otherwise dedicated members of the universal clan community with focused interests in networking, co-operative event hosting, and who are curious about potential clan updates and the clan community as a whole.
I am aware that there is a Clan Leader Discord. Their recent decision to restrict the discord server to CLF access results in communities with more than 2 leaders no longer being able to have additional leaders contribute. For clans that operate a pseudo-dictatorship, this is not a problem, but it is for mine.
I respect the creator and manager of a discord server's right to decide how it is operated, but communication relevant to the CLF should be made in this forum alone. The discord had previously functioned to avail individuals of the broader clan community with a networking tool, and the ability to further extend that network of clan leadership outside the direct confines of the CLF . This is easily observed by looking at my clan having 4 members on the CLF discord, but not including me, Clan Quest's CLF rep.
My Clan had 30+ people attend Runefest18, 11 of which hold our clan's highest rank.
Another solution might be for the existing Discord to add additional usergroups for individuals who would like to stay informed and contribute to the greater clan community, but who don't have direct access to the CLF because of limitations in numbers.
Thoughts?
