Your question seems to be: "How do I keep people playing RS3 and stop playing other games?" Which I don't know that there is an answer for since we are all gamers and people get bored.

Seems like half of ours that play OSRS, or any other game for that matter, come back if there is a big event (clan hosted or RS3 related) or rework of old content, sometimes if interesting new content but not as often since it is less nostalgic feeling and a number of OSRS players like that; Otherwise the other half have made the argument Jagex polls the players before releasing any OSRS content so they prefer it better as a game, yet still interact with the clan in pm or fc or discord etc enough they are active clan members outside of the RS3 cc. Which for our social clan likes to participate in the most random subjects and talk about nearly any topic imaginable and not just in game goals or RS3, it just gives one more topic to share interest about or compare to. :P

Nothing you can do... only way to deal with it is to keep recruiting :P

But saying that can we just have OSRS support RS3 clans and unite us all? I mean OSRS players can join the friends chat regardless why not allow them to join our clan chat?

As long as they are able to join the clan chat through a tab in friends chat I am happy

I believe this is extremely difficult to achieve, as a result of the clan coding

Yeah, I personally don't try to dictate what people do or attend, but we just an inactivity system and we're an rs3 clan. So unless they're also active on rs3 or discord (I'll give a pass if you're still interacting with clan, even if not logging in), they're considered inactive to me. I think we're pretty generous about inactive members, though a bit less than some of you. :p

That said, I'll give a little more of a leash if I see them logging into osrs daily compared to some that I never see online. Always case by case too some extent, but my goal is an active rs3 base for people to interact with.
I'm in no condition to post. Wait a minute - I don't have to listen to myself! I'm drunk

We didn't lose many members permanently to OSRS. Most people tested it out at the beginning and then stuck with RS3. A few play both. A few left.

But we have a clan Friends chat that is accessible from OSRS, and it's now open to guests as well. The people who played or still play in OSRS can talk to us from there, and it hasn't been an issue.

We track clan member activity via our private clan forum, not by who's in game. So a person could log only into OSRS or not log into the game at all, as long as they keep responding in the periodic sweep threads.
