Finally got Runescape working on browser!
Maz, it was to do with the NPAPI being disabled, but I found a way to enable it (though apparently it's only temporary).
If anyone has this issue with Chrome (you or someone you know) here is a way to solve it:
Type into the search bar on Chrome: chrome://flags
Once that loads, search for "NPAPI". Once you find it, click the enable button. Then restart your browser.
As I say, I read this was only temporary - so if that's the case then you may have to do this each time you restart your PC or something.
Hope this will help people in the future!

Hi there,
While I agree with you on some of the points you mention, offering a retro override isn't a 'trivial' change to make to the game. In short, each item has a name in the back end of our system, and since these new capes have effectively replaced the old ones (and taken their back end name) we need to plug in the old capes under a different name and find a system to make them work.
So between design time, development time & QA time there is quite a lot of work to be done to make it possible to choose which cape you would like to wear.
I understand your suggestions and agree with some of them but I honestly don't know if any more development time will be given to improve these.
I hope this answers your post a little bit and helps you understand our development process a little more.
Happy scaping
The old-style capes are still going to be added back in some form,
right
