You are right, people will focus on the fact that what was stated was rude rather than the point behind it. That is why if you want to make a point you do so with tact. They will focus more on what you are saying rather than how you said it. You can be much more successful in communication this way. You can't simply speak to someone and expect them to understand that you are being direct and not a jerk.

Also this is direct:
"The game has changed and they need to adapt"

This is rude:
"The game is changed and they are just bad"

Your post translates to the later.

Question about the CLF rules.

As someone who enjoys streaming, and who runs a clan, I was thinking about combining the two and giving my clan mates the opportunity to see what goes into managing the clan, and hopefully get more feedback from active clan mates on what they would like to see. It would also help provide me with live feedback to any changes I make within our clan or while writing up clan news posts.

My question is, would there be any issues with me showing the contents of the CLF on a public stream? I'm not entirely sure what I would use from the CLF, my initial thinking would be perhaps bringing up a thread and going over it as a discussion topic. Whether its something I would end up doing or not I dunno, but it would be nice to know what options are available.
If we point out each others flaws, then we can fix them.
That way, we can all improve together ^_^

My understanding is that this is not allowed, as this is a restricted forum. When the Permissions Rewrite was still in development in its original form, my clan's leader asked if he could share the rough draft screenshots with us, and he was told that wasn't allowed.

Broadcasting the forum publicly would kind of defeat the purpose of this being a private forum - which is that nobody should feel pressured by 'what other people might think' when they say something here.

Yeah, you wouldn't be allowed to do this. You can mention the fact there is the CLF and that you can apply to join it but that's about it.

We had a bit of a Q&A about Clan Cup here on the CLF. I thought I'd help answering questions that people asked on the Q&A on the public forums (clarification there was a Q&A on both here and there). I got shouted at by Matt ;-;. So yeah, pretty strict. (yeah I guess I'm a bit salty about that, sorry)

Alrighty, so the broadcasting is a no, fair enough, but this is also sounding like we can't even talk about it with our fellow clan mates who don't have access. So in the case of that ninja fixing thread, we aren't allowed to ask our other ranks what they would like? or rather, can't tell them why we are asking? Or would we just have to relay it in our own words for example:

"There is a thread on the CLF asking for what functions clans would like to see most any ideas? Here are some suggestions I see mentioned, thoughts?"

Would that be alright?

If that is ok, then I would assume that writing up some bullet points in a text document, and capturing that would be fine. Just as a way to direct a discussion and for any latecomers to a meeting to quickly and easily get caught up. This way no ones name is shown with their posts, and no posts are quoted directly.

I'm not sure. It's still information that we're being trusted with to see and may not even happen so it's likely Jagex wouldn't want the existing suggestions spread.

What would be ok is to just simply ask. "what clan functions you'd like to see?" And then you could give a few examples so they understand what you're looking for.
