Hey all,
So it's clear you all want a clan competition of someway, and to address this I'm going to be running a pilot version of a Skilling Cup.
So let's jump into the full details
- From the week of TBD (need to see when it's possible to get it in-game) you'll have one skill to focus on during that week.
- When you first login on the week of that update you'll get a login message telling you about the Skilling Cup (this is a one time message)
Original message details are unavailable.
"The
skilling cup has now started! Talk to the Clan Scribe in the Clan Camp for more information on how to participate!"
- The Clan Scribe will have a new OP added to him (Skilling Cup) this is to introduce the concept of the Skilling Cup to new clans who want specific details on how to participate in this, my iffy dialogue below (suggestions welcome!)
Original message details are unavailable.
Scribe - Hello there! Do you wish to participate in the Skilling Cup for your clan?
Player - What's the Skilling Cup?
Scribe - A special competition where I'll track all Clans who wish to dedicate a training session to the
skill.
Player - How do I take part?
Scribe - Easy enough! You need to acquire a Clan Vexillum from myself or a fellow clan member, once you have one you'll have to interact with it to get an option to start a session.
Scribe - You'll have one hour to gain as much experience you can, the top ten members for your clan will contribute to a clan total which will be compared against the other clans!
Player - What can we win?
Scribe - If your clan finishes in the top ten for the entire competition expect some goodies including a boost to that avatar of yours plus more!
Scribe - My fellow Scribes will be in touch to arrange prizes, should you finish in the top 10!
Player - Thank you!
- As is the same with past Jagex Clan Cups, the Vex's interact option will give you an option to start, abandon or check how much time you have left in your skilling session. If you attempt to start a skilling session it'll give you some one-time reminder messages (again feedback welcome)
Original message details are unavailable.
This skilling cup is focused on the
skill, you will have an hour to gain as much
experience as possible, only base experience will count towards your session total.
You will be given three attempts throughout the week to set your
session experience, once the timer elapses your session score will be submitted.
Should you log out at anytime your session data will be lost
- In this cup I've added the ability to track your timer and experience as you literally play via a buff icon (yay no longer clicking on the Vex and wasting xp!)
- I've also tided up the messages a little, and added those precious ,'s to show the XP numbers properly, let's face it 1000 isn't as great as 1,000!
To try and make sure this cup is as fair as possible I've blocked the following from contributing to your session XP
- (If an Agility cup is decided) Silverhawk Boots XP gained won't contribute to your skilling cup session XP
- Use of brawling gloves
- Quest, Distractions and Diversions, and minigame rewards and buffs
- Dwarven tools
- Bonus experience
- Any experience lamps, reward books
How do I decide who's won/registration?
Great news, you'll no longer have to sign up on the forum to participate in this cup, the only pre-requisite is at least 10 clan members need to have submitted a session score, I'll take each clan's top 10 highest players and combine them into a total XP with the highest clan winning!
This means a clan with 500 members can't win by sheer XP, it's all down to each clan to be as efficient as possible!
Rewards
I'm currently proposing the following the rewards, with this I'm being awfully generous because why not
- 1st (winners!) - Crystal avatar, stickied thread in recruitment and 12% xp boost for a month
- 2nd - 10th (runners up): Crystal avatar and 9% XP for a month
That's about everything that comes to my mind based on what I've done so far, but please ask me any questions in here and/or give me any feedback to improve! Mod Shauny - RuneScape Community Management - Goebies! - @JagexShauny
