So I recently made a comment on a thread on the Runescape subreddit, the link to the thread in particular is here:

When I got to my computer, and launched Reddit, I found I had a reply from Jagex Mikeyy (I'm unsure what role he plays in RS/Jagex, but that's besides the point). My post, and reply, are in the image below:



I will reply to him tomorrow after I get home from work, so I would imagine around 17.30 - 18.00 BST (GMT+1). The reason I'm not replying to him immediately is because I want you guys to post your ideas/feedback/opinions, so I can pass them on to him in the PM tomorrow.

So far, I have the following in mind (some of which has been said is in the system etc.)

Avatar Rework:- Remove Avatars and Anagogic Orts, make it so that Capping Fealty is directly tied to XP bonus. (Perhaps not remove avatars, but make them usable outside of having to summon a clunky, buggy familiar. Especially when there are many familiars most would rather use e.g. during bossing). Fealty 0: No Bonus. Fealty 1: 2%. Fealty 2: 4%, Fealty 3: 6%.

Citadel Rework:- Add more skilling plots, possibly more customization. Either increase XP received from plots so they fit in as a medium/high XP gain (how it used to be before general XP rates were improved) or reduce the capping time (an expensive MTX item does not count).

Permissions Rework:- Make it so there is more customisation directly regarding rank, for example you cannot stop Admins from kicking. Remove or Alter Clan Jobs so they do something, and not just "Avatar Warden"
Be able to see how long it's been since someone last logged in, which would help clear inactives. Current methods include checking XP gained in the clan using some form of log, such as RuneClan. This may not be possible due to character data being tied in with the character.
I'm sure there is more to this, but what are your guy's thoughts on what we need/want?

Noticeboard:- Update it. The list is missing so many bosses, mobs, locations. A list might be nice to send, but at least let them know it needs updating.
On top of this, can the default date not be 2011 or something? Instead please make it so that the default date is either the day of the event being added, or the day after, and the time the closest time to the event being added.

I'm sure there are other things, so please, give me suggestions and I'll send Mod Mikeyy the list.

You've come up with a pretty comprehensive list.

While I don't have any additions to the list today, I would like to mention a post written by Mod MMG dated April 5, 2014 (http://services.runescape.com/m=news/mod-mmg-on-myths-and-misconceptions) that provided some game statistics. One bit that stands out is about the average time people play.

Quoting from the post:

...The average player however only plays just on 2 hours a day in the week and an additional 32 minutes on average on the weekend...


Going on the assumption that current data is anywhere close to what it was in April 2014, I wonder how it is justified to ask clan members to devote two hours of their game play each week to cap at the citadel.

Reducing the capping time to about half an hour wouldn't be unreasonable. The cost and time to make such a revision is also probably much less than a citadel rework with more major changes such as adding more plots.

Back when I first joined a clan I looked forward to capping as it provided good xp/hr and would happily have spent more time there. This XP came for free (no need to collect charms, buy secondaries, buy crafting supplies etc). Reducing the cap time to 30 minutes, presumably with no corresponding increase in XP/HR, would deny those who appreciate the XP they get from capping. There are also discussions on how to get more people into the citi and make it more of a clan home and reducing the cap would only work against this goal.

That said, I also understand that many of those with 99 in all citi skills have no interest in gaining any more XP in those skills, many can get better XP/HR outside of the citi and as such many view capping as a weekly chore.

It is a difficult choice and no matter what the change to the cap is, or no change at all, it will not please everyone.

The one change I really do want to see to capping, which should not upset any individual player, is a way of tracking caps, at least for the current and the previous week both on the RS website and through a web API.

That's true. I'm glad you raised this point.

@Darkstar I can see your point. Perhaps we could be given more than one capping option. Faster capping time for reduced xp or better xp but slower capping time needed to get it. This would be good when considering there are members of clans who are already maxed in all the citadel skills while other players are interested in earning all the xp possible from the citadel (as you said in your post.)

Unfortunately they've said there's no better way than currently as is, due to the data being tied to the character, and therefore inaccessible unless you're on the same world.

Also, to add to my avatar rework suggestion, how would you feel if I said that the avatar buff is only on 2 - 3 worlds the clan selects? I'm sure we all have home worlds, and if the avatar buff was always on the clans chosen world(s) then it could bring you together more as a community? I understand you can't always be on the clan world though :/

I believe that response was back when we were discussing minor updates, not a major re-work. As a major overhaul is on the table then I believe the time is right to consider it again.
