A player who's going to join my clan as soon as her cooldown is over says a friend of hers told her he was kicked from a clan and was able to join another one without a cooldown first.

She thinks it shows that if you get kicked, you don't have to wait to join a new one. But I certainly thought it applied to everyone aside from those rejoining the same clan.

Might it be because the old clan was disbanded? My recruit didn't specifically say the clan was disbanded at the same time her friend was kicked out. But if the owner kicked all the clan members at the same time, would that enable those members to immediately join a new clan?

The kicked from clan did avoid the cool down for a short while (very short) after this cooldown time was introduced. The loophole was quickly closed. I believe even if the clan was disbanded there would still be a 7 day wait.
